Southlake Town Square Shooting 2013: Did Mexican Cartel Order Hit?

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Who was killed in the Southlake Town Square shooting last night 2013, has the suspect been arrested, and was the murder tied to a Latin cartel operation as part of a targeted hit? The Southlake Town Square shooting last night May 22, 2013 left local residents in shock in the affluent community. But this morning, the details of the targeted hit are now becoming even more troubling. Local news confirms that the FBI is now on the case. And NBC5 says the gunman might have been ordered to kill the male as part of a Mexican cartel hit.
The Southlake Town Square shooting last night 2013 erupted late in the evening, as reported on LALATE at the time. For reasons still unknown, local police this morning are still refusing to release the name of the victim. Next of kin have already been notified. In fact, the man’s 13 year old son was at the scene of the shooting moments later, while his wife was in the driver’s seat.
Police are telling news that the shooting was not random. They are also indicating the shooting was a targeted hit. The violence erupted as a masked gunman drove up alongside a new Range Rover. In the driver’s seat was the wife, in the passenger seat was her husband. The gunman went up alongside the passenger window and fire multiple fatal gunshots to the passenger’s head.
The wife reportedly screamed in Spanish as the gunman escaped in an SUV. No arrests have been made.
Local news repots this as the first murder in town in fifteen years. The SUV escaped west on FM1709 while the male died inside Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine. “I don’t want to speculate on the motivation of the suspects, but from everything we are receiving, this is not a random shooting,” Southlake Police Chief Stephen Mylett said in a news statement. “This is something that was targeted.”
