Zac Efron is cut loose from Footloose, says online chatter. Zac Efron has split from Footloose’s remake claims one gossip site reportedly today.

Believe it for its worth.

The report claims Efron wants out to do more dramatic and comedic parts and less dancing feet roles. Efron was set to revisit the Kevin Bacon lead in the Footloose remake from Paramount. Online chatter says Efron is already out of contract.

No comment by any of the parties. Zac currently headlines billboards across Los Angeles for his upcoming role 17 Again pictured above.

Bad news Zac Efron fans. High School Musical 4 is back without Zac Efron. High School Musical 4 won’t even be a theatrical movie. Instead, High School Musical 4 returns to the Disney Channel with a new cast.

Sad.

Disney Channel today says the special will air in 2010 and take place after the original cast graduated and feature a rivalry between fictional high schools in Albuquerque, N.M.

Yawn.

ShoWest, an annual convention of movie honchos, awarded this weekend Breakthrough Performer of the Year to Efron for his recent delivery in High School Musical The Movie.

Previous winners of the award have included Sienna Miller, Chris Pine and Bradley Cooper. Efron will hit the screen next in 17 Again with Matthew Perry.

Watch out Vanessa Hudgens! Selena Gomez has a hair crush on Zac Efron. Newly single Selena Gomez has a crush on Zac Efron’s hair that is causing Gomez to say, “Vanessa don’t kill me”.

Selena tells Popstar! that Zac’s hair is “so attractive.”

“I mean all the boys kind of have thie swoop going on, but if you’ve noticed lately Zac is doing a 40’s look. I love that.

“I really actually like Zac Efron’s hair… Vanessa don’t kill me!”

Zac Efron gave a local hospital a surprise this weekend. Zac Efron visited UCLA Medical’s Mattel Children’s Hospital. Efron joined the Children’s Hospital effort to send holiday cheer to patients.

The appearance was facilitated with Gifts.com that featured patients receiving gifts. The day featured Zac posing for photos with patients and providing autographs.

LALATE showed you pictures of that home earlier this year, a cool $3 million for a house in the Valley here in Los Angeles.

One magazine says the Louis Vuitton steamer trunk is vintage. Most antique sites online put the value of one around what the Star reports as $50,000.

“To her,” says the source, “it is a piece of art.”
