Chris Kanyon DEAD - Chris Kanyon has Died

Chris Kanyon is dead at age 40. News of the death of Chris Kanyon aka Kanyon or Mortis (real name Christopher Klucsaritis) Friday.

How Chris Kanyon died still remains unanswered. TV credits included “Ready to Rumble” and a made-for-TV movie on Jesse Ventura.

Kanyon appeared in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling pay-per-view Turning Point on December 11, 2005. He also joined Pro Wrestling Guerrilla against PWG champion, Joey Ryan.

Reports say he was part of a suit with Scott Levy and Mike Sanders against WWE for classifying wrestlers as independent contracts.

Former WWE/WCW wrestler The Hurricane Gregory Helms says the following about  the news:

“RIP Chris Kanyon. He was a good guy that helped a LOT of people in this biz. He struggled with a lot of problems though. It’s a sad day.”

Max Buck at TNA writes:

“Just heard the very sad news about Chris Kanyon. I’m absolutely shocked. I knew him personally and spoke with him for several yrs now. While he had his troubles, I do believe ultimately that he was a good man. We spoke to each other about Christ, battling depression and how he struggled with being bi-polar. Sorry Chris. I wish I could of helped. God bless you. Rest in peace.”

David Otunga WWE Raw

David Otunga is next week’s WWE RAW host! David Otunga aka Punk will host WWE RAW next week following his WWE NXT win tonight.

Tonight could very well be the biggest win in Otunga’s wrestling career. It was only 1 year ago that LALATE first broke the news that Jennifer Hudson’s “PUNK” was entering the world of WWE. In February 2009 LALATE reported “Here is your first look picture at wrestler Dawson Alexander Esq, a possible next WWE star. Your eyes see right. It’s David Otunga, Punk.”

In casting for WWE NXT, Otunga didn’t carry the Dawson name. But tonight, the formerly tossed out of the love ring star on “I Love New York” was the NXT winner. Otunga may have loss his chances to Tiffany New York Pollard, but tonight beat out seven other NXT rookies. David beat in 8 Man Rookie Battle Royal Justin Gabriel, Daniel Bryan, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, & Wade Barrett during the SyFy broadcast (still airing on the West Coast) of NXT.

Catch Otunga as WWE RAW’s host next week.

WrestleMania 26 WWE RESULTS

RESULTS! WestleMania 26 Results included the victory of Hart over Vince. WWE WestleMania 26 (XXVI) results also had a Shawn Michaels retiring as now inevitable.

Reports WWE:

“The Excellence of Execution unleashed more than a decade of malice onto the man who tarnished an incomparable career of a genuine champion, with or without a gold prize in his possession. Swinging a tire iron and steel chair at McMahon – at least one strike for every year since his unsavory departure from WWE – the fury in The Hit Man’s eyes told a story of justice and attrition.

“Then, to lock in vindication and serve his mortal nemesis a 12-year brew of retribution, Hart clinched the legs of The Chairman for a Sharpshooter. It was the moment that not just Bret, but also the legion of WWE Universe members in the University of Phoenix Stadium and around the globe waited more than a decade to experience.

“McMahon quickly surrendered, pounding his palm against the mat with a rhythmic pulse similar to the intro of Hit Man’s entrance music, which then sounded instantly to both signal and accentuate victory.”

Shawn Michaels Retiring 2010

Is Shawn Michaels retiring in 2010? Shawn Michaels was asked about retiring in 2010 despite his WrestleMania 26 performance Sunday. Michaels’ retirement response?

In the current issue of WWE Magazine, Michaels grants a sit down interview that is ended with the following question: “When will HBK retire?”

Michaels responds: “I have my retirement set already. I have been thinking of my retirement for a long time now.”

But there is further explanation on the subject. WWE explains the following Sunday:

“Of course, garnering The Undertaker’s sole, undivided attention is a double-edged sword. The Phenom finally agreed to face The Showstopper one more time at WrestleMania – with the stipulation that it would be Shawn Michaels’ last time as a WWE Superstar, should he fail to end “The Streak,” a prize that many would equate to a World Championship … or perhaps hold in even higher regard.”

Michaels confirmed the deal he would step aside if he failed to beat the Undertaker:

“I wouldn’t have agreed to this match if I wasn’t at a place where I was ready to take on the inevitable, which is the end of my career.I like to be a man of my word. I’d like to honor what I said to The Undertaker … that if I don’t beat his streak, I will walk away.

Thoughts?
