Panama vs. Nicaragua 2011: Luis Tejada is Critical for World Cup Qualifier Win

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When Panama vs. Nicaragua 2011 battle tomorrow (en vivo 9 pm EST) in the Copa Mundial (World Cup) qualifying match, Luis Tejada will be anxious for another win. Luis Tejada was the icing on the cake for Panama in the last Panama vs. Nicaragua match. Panama in July not only defeated Nicaragua but also shocked fans and news critics with a masterful 0-4 win. Tejada delivered two of those goals.
This time around, Tejada and team will attempt to do the same. In the last showdown, Panamanian goals also came from Blas Perez and Gabriel Gomez. The key, however, was offense. Panama had eleven goal attempts, Nicaragua only four.
Nicaragua, in fact, has struggled this year. In the Copa Oro (Gold Cup), it loss to Guadeloupe as well. But while it loss previously to Panama, that match was in the Copa Oro, it was not a qualifying match. Instead, Nicaragua has only played one qualifier to date, defeating Dominica previously 2-0.
Tomorrow’s match is a showdown for Group C World Cup qualifying. Panama has two wins, no losses, while Nicaragua is right behind in the rankings with one win and one loss.
While Panama is narrowly in first place in Group C currently, a win by Nicaragua tomorrow could tie up the Group standing. Moreover, since both teams next face Dominica ( a perceived easy competitor), a win by Nicaragua Tuesday could end in sending both teams to the next round. Click HERE for updates.
