Shelly Sun - BrightStar Care Undercover Boss Tackles Home Healthcare

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Shelly Sun, CEO of BrightStar Care, tackles Undercover Boss and home healthcare tonight, with some help. Shelly Sun on Undercover Boss tries to help a caregiver assist four toddlers. But soon, Sun enlists some help from another undercover boss, her co-founder and husband.

Sun with her husband are the co-founders of one of the nation’s fastest growing private healthcare companies, reports CBS to news this weekend. But that hasn’t prepared Sun for her biggest challenge yet – going undercover with four toddlers. Soon she becomes “overwhelmed while assisting a caregiver who’s overseeing four toddlers” says CBS in a news statement Sunday.

Sun told news in advance of tonight’s CBS broadcast that she and husband JD started BrightStar Care after they were frustrated they couldn’t find quality care for her husband’s ailing grandmother.

Founded in 2006, the company has grown to 223 location in thirty-seven states; next year, its expects to reach Canada. BrightStar services include various aspects of home health care including nurses, nannies, and housekeeping.

“It really was comforting, that what we set out to build was being replicated across multiple care givers throughout the country,” Sun tells the Lake Forest Lake Bluff news. “[Our staff] was providing a quality level of service that I would want for my twin boys, or for my own father [who I lost 18 months ago].”

Ironically, when CBS first considered a then smaller BrightStar Care for the series, CBS reportedly declined, asserting that the company was too small at the time in 2010. But after Sun wrote back, CBS agreed. At that time in April 2010 the show had not featured a female Undercover Boss nor a founder.

Undercover Boss David Kim of Baja Fresh Reveals Salsa Secret

Undercover Boss David Kim of Baja Fresh Reveals Salsa Secret

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Undercover Boss David Kim, CEO of Baja Fresh, on tonight’s CBS broadcast reveals more than his identity. Kim for Undercover Boss will reportedly make news by revealing for the first time the company’s secret recipe for its salsa. Baja Fresh Tomatillo Salsa Verde is served across the chain’s two hundred fifty-five stores. But tonight, news is reporting that the CBS broadcast will for the first time divulge the secret behind the creation perfected by executive chef, Francisco Castellanos.

“In the beginning, I set out to inspire the members of the Baja Fresh family,” said Kim to news. “But in the end, I was the one who was inspired the most.”

“I think the ending is going to surprise a lot of people,” said Kim in a news statement issued in advance of tonight’s broadcast. “But going on ‘Undercover Boss’ taught me three things,” Kim said.

Tonight Kim will tackle four jobs – general manager, cashier, store manager, and operations manager. Along the way, he reveals the recipe secret located HERE.

“Our employees are even more amazing than I already knew. Our guests are raving fans of our fire-grilled, fresh Mexican food. And making a Baja Fresh Burrito Ultimo is about as easy as trying to cut your own hair. I’m terrible at it!”

He says that being a CEO is more than heading a company. “I always believed in the benefits of eating well, being active and making contributions to the communities in which we live. But being a CEO has so much more to do with people than with business.”

Bill Massa – Synagro Undercover Boss Tackles Dirtiest Mission Ever

Bill Massa – Synagro Undercover Boss Tackles Dirtiest Mission Ever

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Synagro CEO Bill Massa is in a mess on tonight’s Undercover Boss. Bill Massa heads into a 2.2 million gallon tank of sludge to clean a facility as CBS’s Sunday Undercover Boss. Massa has to clean the sludge, separate waters from solids at centrifuge, and cleanup a lagoon as well.

While previous Undercover Bosses have gotten into a mess as their identifies were almost revealed, tonight Massa has to clean the mess, literally. Massa heads Synagro which “provides a system of solutions for civic and commercial organizations that manages byproducts to create new, environmentally compelling options” says the company in a news statement. Synagro reduces the effects of byproducts on environment by converting them into renewable energy and reusable goods.

“At Synagro, we take pride not only in our work but also in our people and the communities in which we work,” said Massa in a news statement this week. “Participating on ‘Undercover Boss’ was an eye-opener as it allowed me to get involved in every aspect of Synagro’s services and physically help convert waste into resources that directly benefit people and the environment. It was a humbling experience – one that allowed me to better appreciate the many pieces that go into assuring our Company’s leading position in waste conversion.”

Massa tells news that Undercover Boss revealed the commitment of his workforce and the desire of his employees to improve others’ lives. “My colleagues on the show inspired me with their dedication and passion for what they do” said Massa. “From business operations to safety standards, Synagro is steadfastly committed to excellence, and we encourage our employees to tap into their own passions and view our company as a means to foster that growth and interest. I am honored to work alongside these men and women and offer them additional opportunities to help make a difference in their lives.”

Synagro explains to news that its “reliable, lasting system transforms industrial and municipal waste into environmentally-sustainable resources that benefit our communities and our planet – before an environmental footprint is left behind.”

How dirty does Massa’s job get? CBS calls it “the series’ dirtiest mission to date”. The tank Massa will get into has sludge twenty-seven years old.

Scott Sibella of MGM Grand Tackles “Undercover Boss”

Scott Sibella of MGM Grand Tackles Undercover Boss

LAS VEGAS (LALATE) – Scott Sibella of the MGM Grand is placing  his bets on Undercover Boss tonight. But as Scott Sibella heads to the gambling pits as a dealer, he learns that maintaining his cover may not be in the cards.

As President and COO of the MGM Grand (NYSE: MGM) in Las Vegas, Sibella is the first Las Vegas executive to become an Undercover Boss tonight. But as the head of the second largest hotel in the world, he learns that his undercover disguise might not be worth betting on.

He “faces a group of rowdy gamblers who are quick to point out his shortcomings as a dealer” reveals CBS in a statement to news. Sibella thereafter “becomes frustrated with the slowness of their computer system while attempting to check-in guests”.

Sibella says of tonight’s episode “This was one of the most important and rewarding things I’ve done in my career.” Sibella adds “I learned so much about our employees, and the experience will make me a better leader for our team.”

With seven thousand rooms and nine thousand employees, Sibella has one of the largest workforces ever profiled on the hit CBS series. So while Sibella appears as a dealer and guests services representative, there could have been far more footage to tap for the head of the massive hospitality empire. The question remains however if Sibella is able to maintain his cover. The show airs tonight on CBS.

Mayor Mark Mallory Makes TV History on Undercover Boss

Mayor Mark Mallory Makes History on Undercover Boss

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – On Undercover Boss tonight, Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory makes TV history, for multiple reasons. Undercover Boss has never had a government official, nor an African American boss featured on the hit CBS special. Tonight, Mayor Mallory changes that.

Also changed is Mayor Mark Mallory’s appearance, as he transforms himself to a sanitation worker and a mechanic.

How is public transportation working in your city? Are sanitation workers living up to their duties? Tonight, Mayor Mark Mallory finds out. Mallory will play multiple roles to find what needs fixing in his city.

Of course, could Mayor Mark Mallory’s appearance tonight signal a CBS spinoff series of elected officials undercover weekly, trying to find ills, errors, even possibly wrongdoings in their community? That will remain to be seen.

In a news statement, CBS says of tonight’s broadcast “The mayor of Cincinnati, Mark Mallory, becomes the first elected official to go undercover as he trades in his key to the city for a stint as a municipal employee, working as a mechanic repairing public transportation vehicles and a sanitation worker whose job entails removing roadkill from the streets.”

Todd Ricketts of Chicago Cubs Holds Cover for “Undercover Boss”

Todd Ricketts of Chicago Cubs Holds Cover on Undercover Boss

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Todd Ricketts of the Chicago Cubs almost loses his cover when he becomes tonight’s Undercover Boss. Todd Ricketts’ Undercover Boss episode first aired on the one year anniversary of his family’s purchase of the team. Tonight, that favorite Cubs episode returns to CBS.

Ricketts family bought controlling interest in the Cubs, Wrigley Field and related assets from the Tribune Co. for $845 million. So why did Todd get the gig for Undercover Boss?

Ricketts told news that it was just the result of elimination. His sister was pregnant, his older brother lives in Nebraska. Plus Todd told news that CBS and him feared that his older brother was far more recognizable to staffers. Todd Rickets is the brother of Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts; Todd sits on the board of directors.

Despite his boardroom experience, Todd Rickets gets fired tonight on day one of his job as the Undercover Boss. Luckily, Ricketts redeems himself and gets back to work.

Ricketts tells news that he was fascinated by his tasks, including even cleaning the restrooms. But the one task that Ricketts confesses to enjoying the most was working with the gourds crews. He told news in November that he’d rather work outside than in an office. (For more, click HERE ) In fact, in high school, Ricketts reportedly poured cement as a part-time position.

And like every Undercover Boss episode, Ricketts confirms there are surprises tonight. Rocco, the hotdog vendor of 28 years with the team, ends up becoming the recipient of the first annual Wrigley Field Award because of tonight’s episode.
