Pacquiao Investigation Seeks Pacquiao vs Bradley Judges Inquiry

Pacquiao Investigation Seeks Pacquiao vs Bradley Judges Inquiry

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Team Pacquiao’s investigation is targeting the Pacquiao vs Bradley judging results. The Pacquiao investigation launched by Bob Arum Sunday wants to know what was at play in the judges’ split decision win for Timothy Bradley.

The Pacquiao vs Bradley results were shocking, not just for fans, news analysts, and Arum, but also reportedly for Bradley himself. After the fight was concluded, most fans thought the final cards would give a unanimous decision in the 12-round fight to Pacman.  Additionally, unlike recent Pacman and Floyd Mayweather fights, most news analyst thought Pacman carried at least ten of the rounds.

But when the final cards revealed that two judges gave it to Bradley, fans were shocked. Allegedly even Bradley was surprised too. Arum claims that, before the decision, Bradley said Pacman won.

Arum told news “Can you believe that? Unbelievable. I went over to Bradley before the decision and he said, `I tried hard but I couldn’t beat the guy.’” Bradley has yet to confirm that statement.

Arum now wants a full investigation. In a news statement, Arum said “I want to investigate whether there was any undue influence, whether the [Nevada Athletic Commission] gave any particular instruction and how they came to this conclusion. But the whole sport is in an uproar. People are going crazy.”

Others disagree. In fact, Floyd Mayweather has previously told news that he believes that Pacman has lost at least two of his recent fights and that judges both times wrongly gave Manny those fights.

In 2011, Pacman had three loses. But Floyd told news “(Pacquiao) lost more than 3 times. He already got 3 losses, and he lost to (Juan Manuel) Marquez 3 times. So he already got 6 losses.” Mayweather added “You want honesty, I’m giving it to you. Marquez fought Pacquiao 3 times, Marquez beat Pacquiao 3 times.” Mayweather claims that Pacman has been wrongly given fights for years. “What I’ve done, no fighter has ever done. I faced 42, and I made all 42 look the same. It was easy.”

In a news statement Judge Duane Ford said that judges are to score fights round by round. Ford claims that fans incorrectly score fights looking at a collective of rounds, rather than seeing them as individual units.

In a news statement, Ford said “If this were ‘American Idol’, without a doubt, Manny Pacquiao would have won. It was not. I gave an honest opinion. I had Pacquiao up 4-2, I think, at the end of six rounds. I thought he hurt Bradley a couple of times early in the fight.” But he adds “what happens in one round doesn’t carry over to the next round. They’re separate units. Remember, it’s a boxing match and Bradley demonstrated his ability to box expertly.”

Pacquiao vs. Bradley Winner Timothy Bradley Shocks Boxing Fight Results Tonight

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Who won the boxing fight tonight? Timothy Bradley won tonight’s Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2012 boxing showdown. Pacquiao vs. Bradley boxing results for June 9, 2012 ended with Timothy Bradley winning a split decision tonight. While tonight’s showdown was certainly not the fight that fans had wanted, Bradley entered the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight with one of the strongest record ever for a Pacman opponent. Timothy Bradley won tonight’s fight with split cards, 115-113 for Bradley by two judges, and one judge with 115-113 for Manny.

Undercard fights tonight included Mike Jones vs. Randall Bailey, Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Teon Kennedy, and Jorge Arce vs. Jesus Rojas. But in advance of the WBO Welterweight Championship fight, most news analysts questioned if Manny Pacquiao had a strong competitor in Timothy Bradley. With 12 knockouts in his 28 wins, Bradley appeared to be a strong contender for Pacman, and even appeared substantially more muscular. But critics wondered if the bulkier Bradley would have a speed problem in the ring.

In advance of tonight’s fight, Bradley’s father detailed to news the impact that late trainer O.J. Couture had on his son’s life. He said Couture said of his son at a young age “I’m not pulling your leg, but look at the way he carries himself. I know fighters, I know champions when I see them. Not everyone can be a champion that comes here.”

On Saturday, the delay by Pacman getting into the ring did not sit well with Bradley, nor news analysts. Bradley told HBO before tonight’s fight “They can’t keep me waiting all night. We gotta get it on at some point”. ESPN’s Dan Rafael said of the delay “Last time I recall a delay like this was Hamed-Barrera, when Hamed was uncomfortable in his gloves and had them changed.”

“Ariza is apparently telling HBO that Manny should be back soon. Should?” questioned Rafael. He later added “But Manny still doesn’t have his gloves on. This is insanity.”

But despite tonight’s lineup, Saturday’s fight was still not what fans were promised in fall 2011. In December 2011, Bob Arum told fans there was going to be a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight this spring. “Hopefully, we’ll be able before the new year to bridge that gap and make that fight happen.”

Arum assured fans at the time that he wasn’t working on any other fight besides Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Arum said in December 2011 “That’s the priority.” Arum added “We’re working on trying to make that a reality. But you have to understand that this isn’t the kind of fight you make in 15 minutes. It doesn’t work that way. It takes time, and my obligation is to get Manny the best deal possible.”

Mayweather has long claimed that May 5 was set for him and Manny, but that Pacman refused to sign the deal. Arum later confirmed to news that he was unable to sign any deal with the MGM Grand Garden Arena as the venue. Arum felt the venue was too small for the two fighters.

But last winter, Mayweather told news that he was waiting for Manny to sign an agreement. “They told me this … I been told May 5 is open … I told them May 5 is open…May 5 is the date.” Speaking directly to the camera, as if directly at Pacman, Mayweather shouted “sign the contract! I’m waiting. I can’t be sitting waiting all day for you”.
