Tebow Cease and Desist Battles My Jesus T-Shirt by Cubby Tees

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Tim Tebow cease and desist letter has been sent off to Cubby Tees, manufacturer of the My Jesus T-Shirt. Cubby Tees tells news that it has received the letter from Tebow’s lawyers, and not from attorneys for the New York Jets.
Tebow’s name, image, and numbers do not appear on the t-shirt. In fact, no mention of Tebow appears on the T-shirt whatsoever. The image takes a Jets logo and modifies the football imagery and the letters. Instead of “NY Jets”, the logo reads “MY Jesus”.
Cubby Tees tells TMZ that it won’t stop manufacturing the t-shirts. The manufacturer tells news that the shirts allegedly “share nothing with Mr. Tebow except for promotion of a common Lord and Savior.”
The T-shirts had reportedly been sold on eBay at one time. But the Washington Post claims the shirts are no longer being sold on eBay Thursday. The company calls the shirts a “fun design is not officially endorsed by New York’s backup quarterback or the Son of God, but plays off the themes of Tebow’s faith and his new team — borrowing from the J-E-T-S to promote J-E-S-U-S, with a fish for a football, and “MY” replacing “NY” with a color scheme that will be familiar to Jets fans.”
