LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Tim Tebow cease and desist letter has been sent off to Cubby Tees, manufacturer of the My Jesus T-Shirt. Cubby Tees tells news that it has received the letter from Tebow’s lawyers, and not from attorneys for the New York Jets.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The definition of Tebowing is battling for 2011 Word of the Year recognition. Tebowing’s definition is not in any dictionary (yet). But neither was refudiate a year ago this time. But on November 15, 2010, the Oxford American Dictionary named “refudiate” word of the year. Now fans are calling for Tebowing to become 2011 Word of the Year as well.

What is Tebowing? Until the definition is formally recognized in a dictionary, we must rely on the next best source: Tumblr. Tumblr, Fox News, and yes even NFL.com News today are detailing their own interpretation of the word. “A person can ‘Tebow’ by kneeling down, putting their elbow on their knee, and their forehead on their fist” reports Fox News. In fact, Fox gives viewers a five-part step how to engage in Tebowing. “1) Kneel anywhere. 2) Put your elbow on your knee. 3) Put your fist or forearm on your forehead. 4) Have someone take your photo. 5) Post the photo on the Internet.” It remains unclear if part five is really necessary. But it came into the mix after a website Tebowing.com (a tumblr page) ignited the craze.

And of course, the term cannot be recognized by the football industry until NFL.com news acknowledges the words as well. NFL News reports “our favorites right now are Hot Chick Tebowing [and] Beatles Tebowing”.

For many fans, the path to word recognition is not an easy one. But Sarah Palin’s refudiate might give the guidance. In 2010, “refudiate” was honored in two different moments.

First, the Global Language Monitor Survey named “refudiate” one of the top words or expressions of 2010. Included with “refudiate” was vuvuzela, spillcam, Chilean coal miners, Tea Party, Lady Gaga, and Jersey Shore.

Second, “refudiate” was named 2010 Word of the Year by the New Oxford American Dictionary. The organization issued the following statement to news on November 15 last year. “From a strictly lexical interpretation of the different contexts in which Palin has used ‘refudiate,’ we have concluded that neither ‘refute’ nor ‘repudiate’ seems consistently precise, and that ‘refudiate’ more or less stands on its own, suggesting a general sense of ‘reject.’”

So how does Tebowing.com define the word? The verb’s definition according to the website is “to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different.”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tim Tebow is content as a receiver for the Denver Broncos. Tim Tebow tells news that he doesn’t care if it’s wide receiver or another position, so long as he plays. But Broncos reps confirm to news that Tebow is still their quarterback.

Broncos officials confirm to news that Tim Tebow is still a third string quarterback; while he made play other positions short term, Tebow is still their quarterback. Last weekend, he became a slot receiver after injuries struck Brandon Lloyd and Eddie Royal.

Whether Tebow ends up short term as a wide receiver or special teams player, he still won’t get the support of Merril Hoge. Hoge told news in August that Tebow doesn’t deserve to play quarterback. “He is awful as far as accuracy goes and what’s kind of even more disturbing, he’s probably worse moving and running around with the football and throwing than he is from the pocket”.

LeBron James ultimately came to Tebow’s defense, criticizing Hoge and telling news “Guys get on that TV and act like they was all WORLD when they played. How about encouraging him and wishing him the best instead of hating!”

Tebow previously told news that he relates well to the Broncos’ work ethic. “I think that just coming to a team that has a great work ethic and coaches that have great work ethics so the players see that and then we have leaders that come out every day and show up and work hard. “

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – LeBron James has Tim Tebow’s back after a barrage of criticisms by Merril Hoge. Tim Tebow appeared to be the Broncos’ starter last week. But by midweek, the suggestion seemed Kyle Orton would be taking the number one slot. Coach John Fox tells news, however, he still hasn’t made the decision. Of the field, however, LeBron James has already made his decision, at least about Tebow.

Fox told news this week that he hasn’t made a decision. “My story’s been the same regardless of what you hear,” Fox said. “And I’m in those meetings every day and know what’s said to everybody. Nothing’s changed. We’ve been singing the same song as seven months ago.”

Merril Hoge was on Sportscenter being highly critical of Tebow. But was Hoge correct?  “He is awful as far as accuracy goes and what’s kind of even more disturbing, he’s probably worse moving and running around with the football and throwing than he is from the pocket,” Hoge remarked. “Can you get better there? A little bit. If everything is perfect, the pocket, your feet are good, all your fundamentals come into place, the coverage is what you want it, you can be successful. But that doesn’t happen at the National Football League. Rarely does that happen.”

LeBron James had enough of Tebow’s critics. His response was that Tebow needs more supporters that critics. ” Tim Tebow will succeed in the NFL. He’s a hard worker, a student of the game, a natural born leader and most of all a WINNER! It takes time and he’ll be nice.” LeBron added “Listened to Merril Hoge today on [SportsCenter] and he was just blasting Tebow. The man hasn’t even play a full season and its only his 2nd year in. Guys get on that TV and act like they was all WORLD when they played. How bout encouraging him and wishing him the best instead of hating!”
