LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – MTV The Hills was fake, claims Kristen Cavallari to local news and a hinting Brody Jenner. The Hills fake news reports plagued the reality show season to season. In later years, The Hills cast members admitted scenes were staged and in some cases faked. Tonight, fans and news are left to debate one last time if the landmark reality show was ever real in the first place.

News always asked if parts of the show were faked. But was the entire show a fake?

Did you believe tonight that was really Audrina’s new place at the beach? Did you buy that Kristin is going to Europe (and yet, still hasn’t left)? Lauren Conrad was one of the first to admit segments of The Hills were fake following her departure from the show. But fans never knew how much of the show was fake.

In fact, tonight’s laughable moment was Kristin by Brody’s pool on a (familiar) Hollywood condo rooftop. Suddenly viewers heard a (non-cellphone) telephone ringing from Brody’s apartment. Of course, there was no apartment anywhere in sight.

Recent comments by Kristin Cavalleri suggest the entire show may have been faked. “Nothing you see on TV is real. Fans need to understand it’s all entertainment. It’s all in fun. I would never put my close friends or a real relationship on a show.”

Tonight, the finale’s last shot showed Kristin getting into a limo while Brody stood underneath the Hollywood sign. The camera pans left to reveal we are actually on a fake Hollywood set. And with that, the show fades to black.

With that last image, Hills producers wanted to tease the notion even further if the show was ever real in the first place. “The thing is, as you saw on the end — what’s real and what’s fake, you don’t know,” said Jenner tonight in the afterparty program. “Our relationship, the entire time could have been fake. That’s one of the questions: what was real and what was fake, and we left it [open].”

“I mean, I think we both couldn’t have been happier with the ending. We were speechless,” Cavallari added.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Audrina Patridge is back dating Corey Bohan. Audrina Patridge is tight with Corey Bohan, but not with her Hills cast members as the show comes to a finale tonight.

When Patridge was asked if her Hills friendships will last after the show is over, she said “Uh, honestly? No. When we’re not filming we don’t really see each other … And with the show I kept my guard up. I have trust issues. I have a few good friends outside that I confide in and my family and that’s it.” Audrina admits she hasn’t seen Lauren Conrad in over a year.

In other news, Patridge is the new face of Bongo jeans. She tells press “I’ve never done anything like this. [Photograher] Tony Duran shoots supermodels, so he had me jumping through the air and just letting loose and not worrying about posing.”

Patridge broke up with Bohan in 2009. Reps for the two stated they “broke up amicably a few weeks ago and are still friendly”. Bohan appeared in four episodes of the Hills at the time. Now the two are reportedly back together, spotted at the show’s wrap party last Saturday. “They are totally back together.They were so cute at the party. He had his arm around her and they both looked really happy” said a tattler.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Lauren Conrad and The Hills have left a surprise for the Finale. Lauren Conrad will host The Hills afterparty broadcast tonight, of course. But despite reports that LC doesn’t appear in the finale episode, reports now claim LC does it in fact appear in the last episode tonight.

Reports today say that Conrad taped a secret scene, away from many of the cast members, that producers were left with the option to include in the final episode. Series creator Adam Divello confirmed to Ryan Seacrest that Conrad (as pictured above after season 5) would join the finale afterparty.

Either way, with two New York Times bestsellers, a third book on the way, and plans to turn her series into a feature film, life is good for LC. “LA Candy” and “Sweet Little Lies” were LC’s first two books. Her next book drops on shelves this October.

Still on shelves is Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s. “It was just kind of a battle I had because I wanted to do a higher-end line — I wanted to do a contemporary line — but I was also very aware that the reason I was able to do it at such a young age was because of fans that have supported the show and have supported me.”

Lauren said the following after her departure from the show. “While putting my personal relationships and struggles on television wasn’t always easy, the support I received from people made such a difference. Because of all of you, I was able to accomplish so many aspirations and for that I am very grateful. So, THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!”

The Hills never rebounded from LC’s departure. This last season, less than 2 million viewers watched each episode, down from an average 3 million the season before with Lauren.

In tonight’s Hills Finale, Kristin Cavallari tells Brody that she is ready to move away. She falls into tears when Jenner tells her people will miss her, that he didn’t know she was so emotionally involved in their “friends” relationship. But you might want to hold off on crying a tear. Kristin Cavallari  tells PEOPLE that “nothing” on the Hills is real.

“Nothing you see on TV is real. Fans need to understand it’s all entertainment. It’s all in fun. I would never put my close friends or a real relationship on a show.”

In June 2009, Lauren Conrad, who first hinted with the media that the Hills was fake back in 2008, said of her departure from the show “A part of me is sad to say goodbye to something that has been such a prominent part of my life, but I know that it was time and I am very happy with my decision.”

LALATE (LOS ANGELES) – The Hills Finale airs tonight with split Heidi Montag loving life and Spencer Pratt saying he’s homeless. The Hills Finale tonight signals the end of one of the most successful, and certain lucrative, reality shows this decade. But in recent months, the Hills has also signified the end of marriage of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

And despite the finale tonight, many cast members have said in recent weeks that they have not seen either Pratt nor Montag to personally confirm, or deny, whether their breakup is real.  Pratt reveals this week that he is without a home. This despite Pratt opened up his Pacific Palisades home to media just weeks ago.

Spencer tweeted recently “Booking my room at Roosevelt Hotel Hollywood now that I have no place to live I think I should just move in there today stay near the action”. The Roosevelt is the location of tonight’s finale afterparty.

In contrast, Montag tweeted that she is “Loving life” and “Finally, the sun is out!!!! Whooooo!!! … Swimming in my pool I love summer this is the first summer of my new life.”

Montag first announced her professional split from Pratt and the end of Speidi in March, stating she had hired Aiden Chase, a psychic “Hollywood’s Healer” and star of “Ancient Tomorrow”. She thereafter said she wasn’t hiring Chase but was divorcing Pratt.
