But the big surprise has been how Jef Holm and Emily Maynard continued to earn fan support throughout the season one episode at a time.

Spoilers claim that Jef Holm is the Bachelorette 2012 winner, that Emily picks Jef in the finale, and that he proposes to Emily. Moreover, reports have claimed for months that Emily and Jef are engaged, and set to marry this fall. The fascination with the two, however, is in stark contrast to previous seasons of the franchise.

Generally, when a finale airs for the Bachelor or Bachelorette, the fan interest is usually “are Jef and Emily are still together”, did “Jef and Emily break up”, and are “Jef and Emily still engaged”. This season, however, that hasn’t been the case. While Jef doesn’t have fans across the board, most viewers have believed, and generally supported, the relationship between Jef and Emily. It’s a stark contrast to Courtney and Ben last season on the Bachelor.

After spoilers revealed that Courtney Robertson was the Bachelor 2012 winner, fans became curious with knowing if the two were still together. The fascination derived from doubt that their relationship was real or fabricated for the cameras.

That doubt hasn’t been there this season with Emily and Jef. In fact, the more Emily and Jef got closer, the more fan loyalty grew this season.

But fans just didn’t believe that Courtney and Ben would stay together after filming ended. “I stopped watching when he let Courtney get into the final 4 or 5″ one fan told news last year. Fans got angry not just at Courtney but also Ben. “For awhile I thought alot of the other gals were too good for him – now I know all the other gals are too good for him. They deserve better.”

Many last season accused Ben of changing from the Bachelorette to the Bachelor and having the wrong motivation in doing the series. But Jef recently told news that he would never do the Bachelor. He tells news that once is enough for dating-television.

Moreover, fans reacted well to Arie and Jef’s friendship. Jef has since told news that he and Arie “became really good friends on the show”. He told news that at the end of filming each episode he never felt a rivalry between him and Arie.

Additionally, Jef’s slow progression to win Emily resonated well with viewers this season. He said the other men on the show came on too strong, too soon, out the gate. He said it was important for him that Emily chased him a bit as much as he chased her.

But when Courtney won last season, fans were done with her and Ben, combined. “Please end Ben and Courtney’s 15 minutes of fame. I can’t take much more of these” wrote one fan. As one angry fan told news “What … is wrong Ben? … I don’t care who he picks, .. he deserves Courtney”.

If spoilers are correct, Emily Maynard will pick Jef Holm, Jef will propose and the two will later tell news that they are still together, engaged, and planning a wedding. But how will fans react this time to a finale? Don’t expect anything like the Courtney-Ben outrage last season during the Bachelor. “Courtney was a prop. They are using her so if Ben decided he did not want to pick any of the other girls he can choose Courtney and after a few months they will split up. It is a publicity stunt. She was hired to do what she did.” She wasn’t a stunt and the two are still very much in love. Reportedly, Courtney and Ben, and Jef and Emily, are all engaged. But when Arie Luyendyk Jr joined The Bachelorette 2012, he reportedly told his friends that he had a chance to win the entire season. Part of his hopes rested in his racing background.

Tonight’s path to the Bachelorette 2012 finale didn’t begin for Emily Maynard this year. It began in 2004, when the tragic Rick Hendrick Motorsports plane crash killed 10 members of the Rick Hendrick team.

Killed during the plane crash were Rick Hendrick’s son Ricky and brother John along with 2 nieces. The plane left Concord N.C. in October 2004. Conditions were overcast and foggy. The Subway 500 at Martinsville Speedway had just been held. Among those who lost their lives were son Ricky Hendrick, John Hendrick, Kimberly and Jennifer Hendrick, Joe Jackson, Jeff Turner, Randy Dorton, Scott Lathram, Dick Tracy and Liz Morrison.

The crash eventually became the subject of 2009 documentary called “Together” narrated by Tom Cruise. Driver Rusty Wallace (also a pilot) told press after news of the crash that the airport was among the “most dangerous [airport] approaches on the circuit.”

Prior to this season, producers reportedly wanted to find another race car driver to become Emily suitor. During the interview process, another driver purportedly gave Arie as his reference. And following a reference interview between producers and Arie, Luyendyk told them that he was interested in being cast in the show.

Within months, Arie was added to the cast. But with Arie, Emily didn’t find a currently racing driver. His last notable race was in 2010. He drove partially on the Indy Lights circuit and raced for Andersen Racing and Alliance Motorsports that year.

Arie purportedly told his friends that in being cast for the season he had the best chance to win. His proclamation was similar to that preferred by Courtney Robertson last season.

For Arie, however, producers also had someone with previous television experience. He had been an analyst for Versus coverage of Indy Lights races. He had also appeared in Hell’s Kitchen.

For now, much has been speculated about Arie’s future. Arie could be a future Bachelor, but not the next Bachelor. That title goes to Roberto Martinez. Even Justin Bieber’s mom is interested in Roberto taking the role. She recently told news “Is it true my Roberto is the next Bachelor?? Say it isn’t so. I thought he was waiting for me?”

But not everyone is excited about Roberto becoming the next Bachelor. An insider tells US Magazine that former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky does not want him to take the role. “Roberto has never shared his side of the breakup, and Ali is terrified about what he would say on the show and how she would come off”. But for now, Courtney and Ben are still very together. The couple appeared in Sonoma just this month. Ben’s Envolve winery recently opened its first public tasting room. The couple were present, embracing, and telling news that they were even more in love than ever before. Both are wearing their engagement rings. Yet no wedding date has been announced to news.

That is not the assertion hitting newsstands this week in a false In Touch Magazine article. A purported insider tells the publication that Emily was allegedly crying during filming the finale, because her winner purportedly walks off the set.

The article claims Emily chooses Arie. But ” ‘She was crying and begging him to reconsider,’ ” says the insider, who says she even blurted out, ‘You’re the one I want to pick!’ ” Despite this bombshell revelation, and her tearful pleas, Emily’s dream man walked off the show — and out of her life.”

The peculiar story claims that Arie was Emily’s pick for the winner, but that Arie got cold feet and walked off the set. The article then claims that Emily, within just minutes, turns around then chooses Jef, and suddenly Emily and Arie get engaged.
