Ted Beckham, David Beckham’s Dad, Pursues Lawsuit against News Group

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Ted Beckham, David Beckham’s dad, is allegedly pursuing a lawsuit against News Group Newspapers. Ted Beckham aka “David Edward Alan Beckham” will reportedly file a lawsuit stemming from the alleged invasion of cellphone devices former newspaper News of the World. Beckham has obtained a “claim form” from the Royal Courts of Justice in London, asserts local news.
The Press Gazette reports that Beckham’s dad will join other public figures filing lawsuits including Cherie Blair and Jamie Theakston. Previous legal disputes with Jude Law and singer Charlotte Church have been allegedly settled.
In 2010, following the Irma Nici story published in In Touch Magazine, David Beckham made news, bringing two lawsuits, one in Germany and one in the U.S..
In U.S. courts, Judge Manuel L. Real ruled that In Touch did not act with malice. Beckham thereafter told news that he allegedly won in the German court. “Unfortunately, the U.S. legal system requires us to show that the magazine acted maliciously. Any knowledgeable person knows this story not to be true.”
Beckham had previously said of the Nici article (her photos HERE) that it was “completely untrue and totally ridiculous, as the magazine [In Touch] was clearly told before publication. Sadly we live in a world where a magazine can print lies and believe they can get away with it.”
