EXCLUSIVE: Tonight Lil Wayne will co host and perform live at a private industry bash to kick off the BET Awards.
LALATE can exclusively report that the celebrity Hollywood event presented by Pitbull Energy Drink and Cash Money Music will feature Lil Wayne, Glasses Malone, Mack 10, and Birdman performing live on stage! Oh yes, it doesn’t get any better than this.
The event being hosted at Sugar Nightclub in Hollywood is already sold out but still accepting entries at the door. The celebrity event will feature personalities from Los Angeles radio station 93.5 KDAY.
Today, Lil Wayne is also shooting the music video for “Got Money” in Los Angeles alongside future album duet contender, T-Pain.
Last week, Lil Wayne’s album produced the highest first week sales since 50 Cent’s “The Massacre” (1.14 million) in 2005. Tha Carter III’s first week was the 14th biggest sales week of all time. The album is already 2008’s No. 3 best seller in just one week.
Meantime, Lil Wayne and T-Pain may join forces to deliver a deut album. Currently “Get Money” is No. 45 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. “They’ve been speaking on it,” Cash Money head Ron “Slim” Williams tells Billboard “I wanted to get past ‘Tha Carter III.’ Now we can sit down and get to the business of different collaborations. I just want to make sure that we have a good record.”
