Jake Locker, in turn, has delivered better numbers this season. As news analysts note, his completion rate is impressive. At sixty-three percent, he has delivered nearly eight hundred yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Roethlisberger, however, has had unmatched numbers this season. Roethlisberger, who married Ashley Harlan last year, has delivered nine touchdowns this season, more than one thousand yards and just a single interception. That has resulted in one of the highest completion rates in the league this year at sixty-six percent.

“We just need to respect the fact that we have yet to (win on the road) this year and we have an opportunity on Thursday night,” Mike Tomlin told news this week.

News analysts assert that the Steelers last win, to put them at 2-2 for tonight, was critical. Ben, however, tells news that his team is far better than critics argue. “I always have confidence in myself and the guys that we can do it.”

So why have the Titans struggled this season? The key is their line. The Titans have given up thirty-six points when under pressure, per game on average. That is compared to twenty-two of the Steelers.

And while both teams have good numbers on receiving, the Titans have no rushing touchdown stats this season on rushing. Chris Johnson has delivered more than two hundred yards on seventy-three carries this season. But he has yet to deliver a rushing touchdown. And the team’s second leader rusher, Locker, has only sixty-seven yards.

Sunday’s Eagles vs Steelers 2012 game (start time 10 am PST) could have featured two of the best teams in the league. But so far, both of them have had missed opportunities.

Michael Vick has delivered dreadful passing numbers in his first four starts. He has produced more interceptions than passing touchdowns, six compared to four, and has one of the lowest completion rates of the league, at fifty-seven percent.

Roethlisberger, however, shows much the opposite on his line. He has one of the highest completion rates on the field this year at sixty-eight percent. That has resulted in an astounding eight passing touchdowns, only one interception, in three games. So why are the Steelers off to a 1-2 start? “There’s no panic in here,” Ben told news this week. “It’s still a marathon, but we need to get a win.”

With Vick still lackluster at quarterback, Andy Reid believes his team has a big upside possible for this season. “I’d like to keep winning. I’d like to keep winning by more than one or two points. I’d like that, but I like winning”. He also told news “I honestly don’t feel like we’ve come close to playing our best football yet.”

Steelers vs Raiders 2012 (start time 4:25 PM on ESPN) features the Steelers coming off a 1-1 start, while the Raiders seeking the first win in three games. But can Oakland overcome their demons today?

Roethlisberger has had a good start this season. He has delivered four touchdown passes in two games, and only one interception. That has resulted in five hundred plus yards and a sixty-five percent completion rates.

Carson Palmer’s numbers have not been as good. He has delivered two touchdowns and one interception but struggled with a fifty-nine completion rate. Palmer, however, has been able to move the ball, having produced six hundred seventy yards so far.

The difference is on rushing. The Steelers have produced one rushing touchdown this season from Isaac Redman. Redman has delivered forty-five yards on twenty-three carries. But the Raiders have yet to score a single rushing touchdown. In fact, Darren McFadden has only produced fifty-four yards in two games as the team’s leading rusher.

Mike Tomlin tells news that his line needs to protect Big Ben better. Ben has been sacked eight times in just two games. “We have got a desire to have balance, to be able to attack people in ways that we desire,” Tomlin told news. “Over time we better be continually moving toward that. The Jets in the first half were only able to deliver a field goal and one passing touchdown. Sanchez connected with Santonio Holmes for a fourteen yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Roethlisberger, in contrast delivered a single one yard pass to Heath Miller in the second. The Steelers also picked up two field goals earlier in action.

Last week, Roethlisberger failed to deliver a win in his primetime showdown against Peyton Manning and the Broncos. There, Roethlisberger delivered two hundred forty-five yards. But for his touchdown passes, he also gave up one interception.

Before Sunday’s game, the Steelers narrowly defeated the Panthers. But they did so manly with a passing game. The Steelers, without Ben, delivered one hundred seventy-four yards last week, producing eighteen completions of twenty-four attempts.

But in the first quarter, Charlie Batch connected fast with Emmanuel Sanders. Batch delivered a thirty-seven yard touchdown pass to Batch in the first quarter. In the fourth, Jerrod Johnson delivered a six yard touchdown pass to Wesley Saunders. The Steelers’ only rushing touchdown came from Shaun Suisham who impressed news with a forty-nine yard run in the first quarter.

Without Manning, the Broncos were lackluster against the Cardinals last week. The  Broncos delivered only one touchdown after a one hundred yard kickoff return from Omar Bolden in the first.

Overall, the Broncos’ numbers weren’t impressive against the Cardinals. The team delivered one turnover, and only one hundred forty yards passing, compared to the Cardinals’ two hundred fifty yards. On rushing, Denver delivered only an average of five yards per play, producing one hundred sixty-eight yards total for the game.
