Hoping to dribble a soccer ball ten thousand miles from Oregon to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Richard Swanson was killed after being hit by a pickup truck this week. Police tell news that the soccer ball was recovered from the crash. The driver of the pickup truck has not been charged. And officials have yet to determine if the driver was at fault.

Richard Swanson was a fan of the Seattle Sounders. He just began playing soccer five years ago. Then he was inspired to launch One World Futbol Project, which helps provide free soccer balls to children in news around the world. Funeral arrangements have not been announced to news.
