Shania Twain Reveals Today is Your Day in Finale

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – “Today is Your Day”, Shania Twain’s first single in over a half decade, will be revealed in the finale of her reality show. But on tonight’s episode of Why Not? With Shania Twain, Twain still struggles to regain her voice.

On the episode entitled Fear Is Just a Four-Letter Word, Twain takes up rock climbing and other non traditional methods in the hope to get back her voice. Twain, as fans already know, eventually does regain her voice. Today Is Your Day, an a-cappella video mix already released on YouTube, will get its studio version debuted on the finale of the OWN series.

Twain’s last album Up! was nearly a decade ago and sold eleven million copies in the U.S. On June 12, Twain will debut this new song on her OWN series. The single will be available on iTunes that same night. Twain wrote the song.

In the episode “Finding My Voice”, Twain teams up with vocal coach Eric Vetro. She eventually heads to the studio with David Foster to produce the single.

Initial fan reactions, even to the a-cappella version, have been stellar. Fans have remarked “I love this song- can’t get enough. Really wish it was ready to go… It’s already so inspirational.” Another fan commented “Shania you have been an inspiration to me from day one.”

Shania Twain Reexamines Marie-Anne Thiebaud, Mutt Lange Affair in Why Not

Shania Twain Reexamines Marie-Anne Thiebaud, Mutt Lange Affair in Why Not

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Shania Twain’s shock of a Marie-Anne Thiebaud (photos below) affair with then husband Robert “Mutt” Lange is part of the storyline of her reality show premiering tonight. When news hit about Mutt Lange and Marie-Anne Thiebaud affair in 2008, both denied any such conduct occurring. Initially, Twain remained outside the news media’s glare when details of the affair surfaced. Now Twain is back, with a reality show on Oprah’s OWN network premiering tonight. Twain will tell audiences tonight that she blames Marie-Anne Thiebaud, not Lange, for the affair that ended her marriage.

When asked about his split from Twain in 2008, Mutt Lange told news that he had just grown apart from the woman he married in 1993. “[We had] literally just a growing apart, that’s all.” That is not how Twain details it tonight. Twain has long held that Mutt Lange was growing close to the couple’s secretary and manager of their Lange-Twain chateau in Switzerland.

Asked about allegations of an affair, Marie-Anne Thiebaud told news at the time that marriages sometimes fall apart for many “complicated reasons” and “never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private.”

In “Why Not? With Shania Twain” (10 p.m., OWN), Twain doesn’t keep anything private. Tonight Twain begins a path to expose her thoughts of what transpired and is still bothering her today. In the three years since the affair Twain has rarely spoken about the affair until this month.

Tonight, however, Twain calls Marie-Anne “the traitor”. During the next three episodes, therapist named Gordon Livingston helps Twain sort through her pain over the affair. Twain tells the therapist that her ex husband was “a very kind man” who she believes did not “deliberately” have an affair.

The reality show fosters a bit of potentially conflicting timelines. While Twain has gotten over the pain of the affair, she is reexamining it in the reality show as though its impact is still fresh. But in the landscape of today reality shows in which celebrities are said to be talking about trivial, even fabricated, subjects, Twain is distinctly real, allowing probing details about her life to be examined. She details how her stepfather beat her mom, how she and her sister and two brothers struggled financially until Twain started providing for them, how they overcome the loss of both parents during a car crash.

In 2010, Thiebaud’s husband, Frédéric, married Twain. Robert John “Mutt” Lange has since gone on to continue to do hit music and is currently working with Lady Gaga.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Following the Marie-Anne Thiebaud and Robert “Mutt” Lange affair (photos below), Shania Twain suffered dysphonia. Twain details her condition of dysphonia, the loss of her speaking and singing voice, in an Oprah Winfrey interview this week. Twain tells Oprah that she has since been able to regain her speaking voice but is still working on her vocal cords.

Shania Twain’s discussion about dysphonia with Oprah this week prompted praise from viewers. Many of them wrote that they too have suffered from spasmodic dysphonia, muscle tension dysphonia, or dystonia.

Twain told Winfrey that as, she regained her energy, she was able to speak again. She said her divorce was a “a very positive thing” adding “I needed the wake-up.”

“I realize I couldn’t live without singing and had to do something about it. This is why I was like, ‘Just get it all out right now. Clean the pipes.’”

Twain’s re-entry into the music business has been detailed on LALATE in the last few months. Twain’s producers have already revealed that her upcoming reality show will focus on her regaining her voice. Twain has seen a Nashville doctor. She told Oprah that her throat muscles are squeezing her voice box.

Marie-Anne Thiebaud and Robert Mutt Lange Still in Love

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Marie-Anne Thiebaud and Robert Mutt Lange are reportedly still in love; the romance between Marie-Anne Thiebaud and Robert Mutt Lange is what ultimately resulted in this weekend’s news – the marriage of Shania Twain to the husband to her former employee.

It would take two years until Shania Twain and Mutt Lange’s divorce would be finalized. But between 2008 and June 2010, Shania and Frederic Thiebaud, Marie-Anne Thiebaud’s husband, would grow close, confirming their relationship in 2009, announcing their engagement on December 20, and marrying on January 1, 2011.

When news hit about Mutt Lange and Marie-Anne Thiebaud in 2008, both denied any affair occurred. So what happened between Shania and Mutt Lange? Mutt Lange said that he had just grown apart from the woman he married in 1993. “[We had] literally just a growing apart, that’s all.”

In 2008, she said that one day her broken heart will be repaired and stronger than ever. “I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.” Shania credits fans to helping her overcome heartbreak. “Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.”
