In was weeks ago when LALATE first broke that Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas are not dating. In fact, back then rumors of the two dating were mild. But as LALATE showed, in Nick and Selena’s own words, they are not dating. Honestly, LALATE thought that was the end of Jonas Gomez dating rumors.
Fast forward to July. In July, Rolling Stone Magazine and other publications (obviously, wanting you to read their magazines) started to press Nick Jonas Selena Gomez rumors now as new. In fact, nothing had changed.
Until now.
Here’s the preface. When you have two celebrities saying they never dated, a good reporter is not going to ask them the same question again. Rather, a reporter is going get at the issue circularly.
Enter the question: How about kissing on a first date.
When Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas were asked by two different publications recently about first date kisses, a seemingly harmless question perhaps to Gomez and Jonas, the reporters got exactly the response that is going to turn heads. Gomez and Jonas gave very similar, but not exact, responses to the same questions from two magazines, leaving people guessing, did they in fact kiss.
Here’s what they said:
1. Gomez to Twist magazine: “I had dinner on the beach with a crush and there were lights on the palm trees! Then, went walking on the beach, and after that we slow danced. Wait, it gets better. While we were slow dancing, my crush and I had our first kiss! And after it, I leaned back and I said, ‘You cheated.’ And he said, ‘Why’ and I said, ‘I don’t kiss on the first date.’ Then he said, ‘Well, I never really play by the rules.’”
2. Jonas to Girls’ Life magazine: “On one date, the girl said to me, ‘I don’t kiss on the first date.’ So I said, ‘I don’t follow the rules.’ “
Just similar, or the same date? While the kissing is not very similar, the statement by the guy in both quotes is very similar.
Note to Nick: never tell too many details to press after never playing by the rules.
