Posted on July 15th, 2008 in Quincy Jones by lalate

Quincy Jones

Quincy Jones is 75! The famed music producer Quincy Jones celebrated his 75th birthday this week in Montreux, Switzerland with Herbie Hancock, Patti Austin, Mick Hucknall and more on stage.

“No words can describe the emotions I feel — all these talented, loyal, giving people,” Jones told the audience at Stravinski Auditorium close to Lake Geneva. The 75th Birthday concert was 6 hours and featured dozen of performers. Q’s health is decent. “I’ve had two aneurisms, but I’m glad God wasn’t ready to take me. I stopped drinking six months ago or I would never have survived this,” said Quincy to Reuters.

The celebration was part of a two week summer jazz festival, the most famous in Europe. And how is this for history - Jones co-produced the festival in 1991 when he brought Miles Davis to it for his last concert before his death.

Jones is one of three biggest Grammy winners of all times, with 27 wins.
