LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Paula Abdul 911 call from Valentine’s Day was revealed today by news, prompting Abdul to admit, yes, something love is a hard thing to break. It may sound like the lyrics of a new pop song, but Paula Abdul admits she called 911, on her boyfriend, on Valentine’s Day, because love just wasn’t working out.

But in the end, love conquered all, Abdul tells news.

“Yes, I’m on the 101 Freeway… and I want out of this car and he won’t let me!” Paula exclaims frantically. The call was made somewhere near Santa Barbara.

“Are you gonna drop me off? Are you gonna drop me off ‘cause I have emergency on the phone?! … he’s dropping me off,” Abdul adds further.

Abdul’s rep today said, yes, “Arguments with loved ones are often times heated.” But “after the call was made everything was worked out.”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Paula Abdul has she’s never been drunk in her life. Paula Abdul told news today, again, that drunk claims against her while on American Idol were false. While promoting her upcoming “Live to Dance” series on CBS, Abdul told the network’s Julie Chen Sunday that she was never drunk on American Idol. In fact, Abdul asserts she’s never been drunk off camera, socially.

“I’ve never physically been drunk in my life. I’ve never been drunk in my life.” Abdul went on to say she doesn’t use “recreational” substances”. So what is the reason for her alleged behavior? Abdul says she’s just a “goofy” person.

In August 2009, Abdul confirmed news of her departure from Idol. She tweeted at the time “I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1 become an international phenomenon.” Abdul’s departure from Idol came after alleged salary negotiations fell apart. Abdul had reportedly been earning between $2 to 4 million per year; FOX reportedly offered her $5 million per year for three years.

Just weeks earlier, in May 2009, Abdul went on the offensive against a Ladies Home Journal article. In a news statement issued at the time, Abdul said “I want to make it perfectly clear to everyone that I have never been addicted to or abused [substances] in my life. I have never been drunk. I have never entered a rehab or detox treatment center.”

The bigger question is not … how was the kiss for Lydia and Michele “stars” of Big Brother 11, but rather … what is that thing Paula is wearing?

Even moreso, what is that key attached to Paula! Hot or not? In related Paula news, chatter says Paula could be joining Simon Cowell on the 2011 premiere of X Factor coming to FOX. This comes after Cowell announces his exit from American Idol Monday.

Paula Abdul confirmed on Twitter tonight – she’s leaving American Idol. Paula Abdul told Twitter followers Idol  not have her returning for a new season:

“I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1 become an international phenomenon.”

The companies that produce Idol, FremantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment, issued a statement tonight:

“Paula Abdul has been an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”

Reports claim Abdul was earning $2-4 million per year and FOX was willing to pay $5 per year for 3 years.

What’s happened?

Abdul’s manager David Sonenberg, says Paula hasn’t even been given a contract proposal to return from the show’s producers. What?!Moreover, Sonenberg says the producers aren’t even responding, leaving Abdul to guess if she’s been let go. Sonenberg calls it hurtful and rude. If true, how about disrespectful too!

“I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”

Sonenberg says Fox told him they would be contacting Abdul. They haven’t. The producers and Fox are not responding to press requests for comment.

Sonenberg says Abdul is very angry. Bottom line – will you watch the show without Paula?
