State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance told news today that the remains recovered from Bunnell Pond in Bridgeport on Thursday are those of the Wiley. Officials had dispatch everything from dogs to helicopters to obtain clues tin the case. And then on Friday, dive teams were dispatch to a pond in Beardsley Park in Bridgeport.

Ruby Zavala Missing, Jesus Ramirez Remains Wanted

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Ruby Zavala is missing and Jesus Ramirez remains wanted. Ruby Zavala is the 14 year old girl kidnapped by an alleged “obsessed” man. Jesus Ramirez, 23, is accused by police of allegedly being “obsessed” with Ruby. But the case is far more complicated than that. The two have reportedly dated before.

Yesterday, police assert that Jesus Ramirez allegedly abducted Ruby Zavala, her mother and her aunt from church. The tension erupted at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church at 1403 E. First St. in Mount Pleasant shortly after 1 pm yesterday. At knife point, Jesus took all three women hostage.

Today, Mount Pleasant Police Chief Wayne Isbell is asking the public’s assistance. The case is unusual because Jesus Ramirez, who is 23 years ago, allegedly dated Ruby Zavala, 14, in the past. But the two kept the matter secret from others.

Authorities assert that Ramirez is already on probation. He has a felony from 2007 on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

But police confirm to news that Ruby did not go with Jesus willingly. Jesus let the two other women go free later yesterday. But since then, his whereabouts with the 14 year old remain unknown. Police tell news that Jesus is 5′9” and was last wearing a black baseball hat.

Brenda Heist Found 11 Years After Disappearance

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Brenda Heist has been found 11 years after his disappearance, alive but confused. Brenda Heist abandoned her family in Lititz, Pennsylvania in 2002. And while police have yet to determine why she ran away, it is clear that Heist has not spoken to her family ever since.

Back in Lititz on February 2002, Brenda Heist was believed to be going through an amiable divorce proceeding. At least that is how local investigators perceived the situation. Brenda dropped off her young children at school one fateful day. Thereafter, she learned bad news about a housing application.

From there, Brenda Heist’s life changed dramatically. In a turn of events that can only be explained as baffling, Brenda Heist was approached by strangers on the road moments after dropping off her kids. The people invited her to leave the father of her children, her kids, and her life, and go on a road trip to Florida. At the time Brenda Heist had a car and assets.

But she simply left everything and went on the road. But why?

She now tells news that it was a road to nowhere. With nothing but the shirt on her back, the troubled Brenda Heist landed in Key Largo, Florida. She became homeless, then moved in with a boyfriend in a trailer park, then became homeless again.

Detective Sgt. John Schofield of the Lititz Borough Police told CNN that the entire story remains unexplainable. Heist’s ex-husband Lee Heist tells news that he raised the children without her, that Brenda never called to ask about her children for over a decade, and that the children are now fully grown.

Brenda has not been charged with any crime. But for new, Becky Herrin, a spokesperson for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, tells news that Brenda has been placed into “protective custody”.

Cheerleader Body Found, Hailey Dunn

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A cheerleader’s body has been found. Hailey Dunn, a Texas cheerleader missing since 2010, has been found in West Texas, officials tell news today.

The cheerleader went missing in Colorado City in 2010. She was last spotted near her home. The Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers and FBI investigators tell news today that the remains they found back on March 16, 2013 came back with a positive identification as belonging to Hailey.

The Scurry County Sheriff’s Office still do not have a cause of death. They have not categorized the case as a homicide yet. The testing was aided by the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification for DNA analysis.

A family member gave a statement to news today “I’ve had a feeling all along that she wasn’t kidnapped, that she was murdered. I’ve had that feeling all along. It’s just the emptiness that I had in my stomach, and I’ve had it there all along and when they found the remains over in Scurry County I just, I knew, I knew, I just knew that it was Hailey. I think that it was right.” She added “Oh she’s remembered. Everybody that ever knew her remembers her, everybody. And she won’t be forgotten. Ever.”

Connie Jones tells news today “At least now we can get some closure. We can bury her. She can go home to her maker. She can be at peace.”
