Maybach O, Omarion MMG Name Change, Prompts Unusual Fan Reaction

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – “Maybach O”, an Omarion MMG name change revealed today, is the result of a “movement” for the singer. Maybach O’s name change follows a period in which many called Omarion “Young Money” O. Today, the singer who has gone by “Omari” to simply “O “appeared before news alongside the unofficial the king of the name changes: Diddy.
Omarion’s name change to Maybach O was revealed recently in an exclusive news interview with Shaheem Reid of XXL Magazine. In that interview, Reid asked Omarion about an upcoming trailer. But Omarion suggested that the interview instead address him as “Maybach O”.
Omarion tells news that the name change is the result of a “movement” he is going through. “Yeah, Maybach O. That’s the new movement, man. I’m so excited. I can’t even express, you know, how excited I am, you know what I mean?”
MMG and Warner Brothers had a live streaming event for news and fans today inside a New York hotel today. At it, Ross was joined by Def Jam and WBR executives including Lyor Cohen, Steve Bartels and Todd Moscowitz.
HipHopDX reports Cohen as telling news “When I got a chance to meet him, I saw someone that was going to be undeterred in achieving the success that he has”. He added “He’s not satisfied. There’s no stopping him. I’m so grateful that I’m associated with him and that the Warner Bros. label is associated with him. The possibilities that Rick and Maybach Music are going to bring is going to be, in my mind, unprecedented.”
Maybach O told news today “A lot of people have been wondering what’s up with Omarion? Is his career over?” He added “I’ve never been a fan of popular opinion, but from now on, when you see me, understand that it’s Maybach Music.”
