ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Omarion aka Maybach O’s dance entrance for Rick Ross during the BET Hip Hop Awards evokes memories of the best hype man moments on television. While Omarion didn’t wiggle, twist, or leg kick his way onto stage as a hype man for Rick Ross, that was the initial reaction by some viewers, until they realized it was just Omarion.

Rick Ross was on stage and letting it all hang out, literally. When suddenly, in a few verses, Omarion moved his way onto stage with a smorgasbord potluck of dance moves that even Dance Moms’ Abby Lee Miller won not have approved. It left some viewers wondering what Samuel L Jackson on Lopez Tonight or Lil Mama with Jay-Z and Alicia Keys would have thought about the appearance.

George Lopez tried adding an out-of-touch hype man during his late night talker, Lopez Tonight. But Samuel L Jackson didn’t approve. Lopez at the time explained to news why some rappers add out of touch hype men to their acts. “Let me explain that. Sometimes I say something funny and you laugh, and sometimes I say something and you don’t laugh enough…So that’s why I’m introducing the Lopez Tonight hype man.” Lopez also told news “That why he is dressed like Fisher Price. For … people who don’t understand, a hype man is the equivalent of a lobbyist.”

But sometimes hype men need to be told to give it up. That what Samuel L Jackson did during the same Lopez Tonight broadcast. “It would be an honor if you c-rise me out right now”, said the hype man to Jackson. Jackson looked angrily at the hype man and said, “Alright Mother– you need to sit down and shut the — up!”
