Mark Sanchez vs Tom Brady – Who’s Winning Endorsements?

NEW YORK (LALATE) – Between Mark Sanchez and Tom Brady, who is winning the endorsement deals? Reports in 2009 about Sanchez and Brady claimed that Brady’s value would drop this season. Brady is still, however, going strong.
When Mark Sanchez (formerly linked to Jamie-Lynn Sigler) appeared in GQ pictures shirtless in 2009, the publication called Sanchez the new face of football endorsements. Brandon Steiner, CEO of Steiner Sports Marketing, at the time told the NY Post that “Tom Brady’s getting a little older. He’s becoming the veteran. He’s going to be doing some more insurance-type commercials pretty soon.”
Steiner was wrong. Brady is still going strong.

This season, Tom Brady carries approximately five endorsements. His big deal is Glaceau Smartwater. He also has a royalty deal with Stetson on cologne and an endorsement deal with Movado along with tie-ins for Audi. In total, the WSJ puts Brady’s annual endorsement earnings at $4 million.
Peyton Manning has eight endorsements, bringing his annual to $9 million. They include Gatorade, MasterCard and Kraft’s Oreo.
Sanchez recently inked a deal with Pepsi Max. His spot has yet to be valued; it debuted this Thanksgiving Day as the “Winning Formula” campaign. Sanchez also appears in the “CBS Cares” ad spot.
Rick Reiff of the Orange County Business Journal reports that Sanchez’s team includes his older brother Nick Sanchez, business litigator with Theodora Oringher Miller and Richman in Costa Mesa “and a former Yale quarterback”. Nick Sanchez is reported teamed up with David Dunn (Athletes First, Irvine) and represents Patrick Turner and Damian Williams.
As to endorsements, Reiff reports “Nick took a calculatedly cautious approach to endorsements, wanting to minimize Mark’s distractions or risk that he’d be overhyped. “We wanted him to focus on football.” “
