LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Mark Sanchez is dating Kim Kardashian, claims a new report. Mark Sanchez (GQ photos below) didn’t get the NY Jets to the Super Bowl. But a new report claims that the quarterback got something else for Super Bowl weekend: an alleged relationship Kim Kardashian.

Ironically, in 2009, Brandon Steiner, CEO of Steiner Sports Marketing, told the NY Post that Mark Sanchez was the future of NFL elite football players, not Tom Brady. “GQ is all about the young, the good-looking, the quarterback who has the whole world in front of him. Tom Brady’s getting a little older. He’s becoming the veteran. He’s going to be doing some more insurance-type commercials pretty soon.”

Sanchez has been linked to Hayden Panettiere previously. In 2011 he drew debate over his “white linen pants” matter. When asked why did  Sanchez pose in overly tight white pants, not on a fashion runway, or on a beach, but in a football stadium, Nick Mangold told ESPN “Nothing explains that!”. Mangold further told news “I have no issue with what he does. I was just commented that I am big fan of white linen pants. But he shouldn’t be wearing white denim stretchy pants that are about three sizes too small. That is what got me.”

Aaron Rodgers slammed the same pictures. “Look at this, that’s embarrassing.” When asked about the white tight pants pictures, Rodgers said “Page 94 of this GQ thing here, that’s terrible.” Rodgers added “I like my anonymity. I like my privacy. I like being able to be the quarterback during the week, and in the offseason be able to do what I want to do and not be in the public eye.”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Mark Sanchez is in a man cave tonight following his tight white pants controversial photos for GQ Magazine. Mark Sanchez enters “Man Caves” Sunday without his fur coat but with the help of other Jets players. The Man Caves renovation is for New York Jets star linebacker Bart Scott and will feature appearances by Brett Raymer and Wayde King (“Tanked”), DIY Networks tells news.

During  the “reveal”, several Jets players come over including Mark Sanchez. It remains unclear what Sanchez wears during the television episode. But this week, Sanchez was under fire by news and fellow Jets players for his choice of clothing in new GQ pictures.

Nick Mangold told ESPN “I thought the white pants one was a little suspect with the fur coat and everything, channel a little Joe there.” Mangold added  “Sometimes I think Mark lets other people decide his fashion wardrobe a little too much, but we’ll get him right.”

Wayne Hunter agreed stating that “Mark’s a pretty boy, a California pretty boy. I can’t get him hit too many times or else he won’t be on the cover of anything.”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – New Mark Sanchez GQ pictures featuring Sanchez in tight white pants are prompting questions about the marketing of the Jets quarterback. When Mark Sanchez appeared in GQ pictures recently, even his teammates thought the pics created “issues” for Sanchez. Now other players around the league are asking the same. The revelation comes after a previous report described Sanchez’s efforts to “carefully” market his image.

As first reported on LALATE in 2009, Sanchez appeared in GQ pictures in the spirit of Baywatch before beginning his first season in the league. When Mark appeared in GQ pictures shirtless in 2009, the publication called Sanchez the new face of football endorsements. Brandon Steiner, CEO of Steiner Sports Marketing, at the time told the NY Post that “Tom Brady’s getting a little older. He’s becoming the veteran. He’s going to be doing some more insurance-type commercials pretty soon.” Sanchez has not become the endorsement king as initially expected in 2009.

Rick Reiff of the Orange County Business Journal reported in December last year that Sanchez’s marketing team includes his older brother Nick Sanchez, business litigator with Theodora Oringher Miller and Richman in Costa Mesa “and a former Yale quarterback”. Nick Sanchez is reported teamed up with David Dunn (Athletes First, Irvine) and represents Patrick Turner and Damian Williams.

Reiff at the time reported that “Nick took a calculatedly cautious approach to endorsements, wanting to minimize Mark’s distractions or risk that he’d be overhyped. “We wanted him to focus on football.” “

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A possible Santonio Holmes Jets deal is getting help from Mark Sanchez. Santonio Holmes and Mark Sanchez delivered two game winning plays in November of last year. Now, as the Jets try to work on a possible new contract for Holmes, Sanchez confirms he is willing to have his contract re-worked to keep Santonio Holmes.

Holmes suffered a four game suspension last year, not returning to practice until October 6. But Holmes was on fire after that. On November 14, he delivered a game winning catch from Sanchez, delivering a win against the Browns with twenty-two seconds left in overtime. One week later, Holmes caught another game winning touchdown to defeat the Texans.

Now Sanchez wants Santonio Holmes back on his team, and will even allow his contract to be worked to keep Santonio. “My agent’s already talked to me about it,” Sanchez told news yesterday. “Whatever we need to do to win, it’s on.”

Sanchez told news that he told “the guys upstairs this, they know” he agrees to restructure his own contract immediately. The New York Post estimates Holmes could become one of the highest paid receivers just behind Andre Johnson, currently being paid $73 million over seven years.

“Whatever it takes to win. If it’s throwing the ball left-handed, I’ll throw left-handed” Sanchez told news. “It doesn’t matter. We need to win and we’ll get the right players.”

NEW YORK (LALATE) – Mark Sanchez’s mention with a 17-year old girl this week is the latest turmoil to hit the Jets locker room. Mark Sanchez’s involvement with a 17 year old girl is being described today as “funny business” by Forbes.com. But the real question is how the depictions of images of Sanchez’s bedroom and claims that he was more than friendly with a 17-year old girl will affect Sanchez’s endorsement deals.

Mark Sanchez faces no legal dilemma by the latest revelation. In fact, news reports have been careful not to tag the story with the usual “scandal”, “controversy” titles, because the female was of the legal age of consent and there was no wrongdoing at play. In fact most news reports are so sure what to even call the story. A “rumored romance” tries the Chicago Sun Times, a “relationship… with no wrongdoing” says MSNC, and “allegedly dated” is the attempt by the Boston Globe.

But the bigger question is whether this is not Pepsi Max quality, whether CBS cares not to have Sanchez associated with its “CBS Cares” messages, even when marketing to teens.

The business of marketing Mark Sanchez was previously detailed on LALATE. And as NFL fans know, quarterback endorsement deals are not particularly that plentiful. In fact, the king of the NFL QB endorsements as of last season was reportedly Peyton Manning. With eight deals, his annual take is a reported $9 million. Along with Sony, Manning has Gatorade, MasterCard and Kraft’s Oreo.

But how about Sanchez?

Sanchez last fall scored the Pepsi Max deal. Sanchez was teamed up for the beverage maker starting Thanksgiving Day with the “Winning Formula” campaign.

But as images of Sanchez’s tossed bedspread and pillows are Max-ing out of New York news this week, is it likely that Sanchez fits the bill to continue his “CBS Cares” ad spot? That remains to be seen.

Rick Reiff of the Orange County Business Journal previously claimed that the marketing team behind Sanchez has had one key goal in place: keeping Sanchez from becoming overexposed.
