ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Marie Osmond and Stephen Craig remarried today. Marie Osmond and Stephen Craig married on what would have been the 20th birthday of Marie’s son Michael Blosil. As previously detailed on LALATE, Marie had one child with Craig, Stephen James Craig Blosil. With Brian Blosil, Marie adopted five children (Jessica, Michael, Brandon, Brianna, and Abigal) and had Rachel and Matthew.

Osmond and Craig married in 1982 and divorce three years later. Marie and Brian Blosil then met in January 1986 and married on October 28 that same year. Marie was 27, Brian 33, at the time. Osmond and Blosil told news upon their divorce that “Our marriage has always been a faithful one, and neither of us is assigning fault for the divorce.”

Osmond most recently appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show to discuss the death of her son. She told Oprah “My son was not gay,” she remarked. “He wanted to be married and have a family and travel all over the world. And it wouldn’t matter if he was — I have a daughter who’s gay. She was the most offended by [the rumors]“.

Osmond also told Winfrey “When I heard him say to me, ‘I have no friends,’ it brought back when I went through depression because (you), you know, really feel so alone,” Osmond tells Oprah. “I’m not a depressed person, but I understand that place, that darkness.”

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Marie Osmond’s son Michael Blosil (photos below) committed suicide following depression. Marie Osmond’s Oprah interview about Michael Blosil is rebroadcasted today. Osmond said that Blosil suffered from depression, wasn’t thinking rationally, but was clean when he committed suicide.

Osmond tells Winfrey ” ‘Sorry’. I told him, I said, ‘Mike, I’m going to be there Monday and it’s going to be OK.’ But depression doesn’t wait ’til Monday.”

Marie says that she, too, suffered depression earlier in her life. “When I heard him say to me, ‘I have no friends,’ it brought back when I went through depression because (you), you know, really feel so alone,” Osmond tells Oprah. “I’m not a depressed person, but I understand that place, that darkness.”

Osmond reveals that Blosil previously attempted to kill himself during her 2007 appearance on Dancing the Stars. She confronted him about the issue at the time. Osmond said Michael promised he would never attempt suicide again.

So what drove him to kill himself?

It was not substances. Osmond says Michael was clean at the time. “Whatever his reality was, I do believe that there are moments when you slip into insanity and you no longer think rationally. I believe that’s what happened.” She adds “My son was clean when he jumped … There were no [substances] in his system.”

Were there warning signs after 2007’s suicide attempt? Yes, says Marie. She tells Oprah that twenty four hours before his suicide, Michael told her that he felt alone. ”It was the first time I heard him start to cry and say he was alone.” Marie tells Oprah Michael felt despair. “That he had no friends. That he felt despair.”

Osmond tells Oprah’s audience to learn from Blosil’s passing. “Tell your children it’s never a burden…. depression doesn’t wait ’til Monday.”

“He had made that decision, I guess,” Marie says. “He loved his family, but … the pain was too intense.” Marie Osmond makes the shocking revelation today to Oprah. Just twenty-four hours before her son killed himself, he admitted he felt lost.”It was the first time I heard him start to cry and say he was alone,”

Marie tells Oprah Michael felt despair. “That he had no friends. That he felt despair.” Marie had battled helping her son through a previous suicide attempt while she was on Dancing With The Stars.

“During that time, I was going through a very public divorce. Going through a custody battle. My dad died, and my son went into rehab,” Marie says. In rehab, Michael tried to take his own life.

When asked if Marie knew why Michael contemplated suicide, she tells Oprah “I think he didn’t want to burden me with one more thing.”

Funeral arrangements for Marie Osmond’s son were today. Marie Osmond’s son was remembered in a private funeral Monday set in Utah.

Questions as to Michael Bloslil’s death still remain unanswered. Marie said through a statement after Michael’s passing :

“My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

“As we all know, whenever there is a situation when there needs to be rallying, the Osmonds rally around each other and support each other. There’s a lot of that going on right now. We all flew down to Vegas to be there for her. It meant a lot to her to have us at her house.”

Michael Blosil’s father Brian and Marie issued the following statement roughly two years ago about their divorce “Our marriage has always been a faithful one, and neither of us is assigning fault for the divorce.”

The couple had ended their marriage of nearly 20 years. Michael Blosil was one of eight children, and one of five adopted.
