LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A woman was recorded clinging to a van after a Los Angeles bank robbery yesterday. As the woman held on, video was being recorded live by local news. The shocking footage looked like something out of an action film. In the end, a dog named Rambo saved the day.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Los Angeles earthquake today 2012 struck east of downtown. Today’s April 22, 2012 Fontana earthquake was felt across Rancho Cucamonga, and struck east of downtown in the predawn morning hours today. No reports of injuries have yet to be documented by local news.

A light earthquake today struck close to the Glen Avon area. The quake erupted at 3:20 am local time, but had a nominal depth, USGS reports to news. As a result, the quake could be felt across the immediate vicinity. The quake struck only seven miles below the earth’s surface.

The quake was centered four miles from Fontana, USGS reports to news. It was four miles northwest of Glen Avon and five miles from Rancho Cucamonga. USGS indicates to news that the quake was seven miles from Ontario and forty-two miles east of downtown L.A.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best season three remains in doubt, Joan Rivers tells news. Joan and Melissa JKB became a viral sensation and strong ratings performer during the cheating revelations of season two. But after Melissa and Joan battled heartbreak in season two, they are battling uncertainty about season three, LALATE can exclusively report.

Joan joked Friday “I just read that fewer and fewer teens are driving cars these days. Apparently, it interferes with their texting.” But moments thereafter, Rivers was asked by a fan “When is the Joan Knows Best show coming back on?” Rivers replied “Honestly I don’t know”. She also asked fans to “please reach out to @wetv” to urge the cable channel to pick up the show for a third season.

Rivers then thanked fans for their words of encouragement Friday. “I just tweeted and begged We TV to bring back Joan and Melissa. I’m addicted 2 the show. Seen every one Love it” said one Rivers fan.

Another fan started a TwitItion located HERE. “We are doing our best to reach out to @WEtv We need Joan & Melissa: … season 3″.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The death of Marland Anderson aka Sledge Hammer (photos below) has now prompted a taser controversy for the LAPD. When news surfaced that Marland Anderson had died, no cause of death was listed. Now friends of Marland Anderson claim that LAPD’s use of taser guns killed the film actor known as Sledge Hammer.

Marland Anderson had appeared in nearly eight hundred movies since the 1990s. He worked for Celestial Productions and then Lethal Hard– productions. Anderson grew up in Mission Viejo, Calif.

The confusion started Sunday night while Anderson was at home in Reseda with his girlfriend, Alexa Cruz. She called 911 because Anderson had suffered an anxiety attack. Police reported to Anderson’s residence and asked him to walk down to an ambulance. The two parties were reportedly at ease.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Raphael Davis, “the Noodle”, has been arrested for an LAFD workers’ comp insurance claim. Raphael Davis fought in MMA bouts as the Noodle at the same time that Davis, an LAFD Firefighter, got insurance claim payments. Now Davis has been arrested by local police.

Prosecutors claim that checks were processed between December 2008 and May 2011. And yet, during that same time, Davis, a 35 year old resident of Lomita, was fighting in MMA matches. The L.A. District Attorney’s Office has charged him with filing false insurance claims. He faces five years in prison if convicted.
