Henry died Thursday after falling off the back of fiancee Tonga’s pickup truck. Tonga told funeral attendees:

“We were supposed to get married in three months, but I’m going to wait until I see him again.”

Shane Shelley with Henry made it to the state championships together in high school. Shelley, the QB on that 2001 team, told the funeral attendees today:

“It’s a sad day for Belle Chasse. We really lost a good friend, a brother, one of my best friends. It’s hard. We lost one of us. We’re going to miss him. We love him.”

“The Chris Henry I knew was a good quiet young man, wasn’t a troublemaker. That’s what everybody needs to know. He was a good man, a good father.”

PHOTOS. Here again are pics of Loleini Tonga, Chris Henry’s fiancee, who spoke at Henry’s funeral today. Loleini Tonga and Chris Henry were in a domestic dispute prior to Henry’s death last Thursday.

Tonga tells funeral attendees she will now wait to marry Henry when she sees him again.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and hundreds others filled the New Orleans Hornets practice center for today’s funeral.

Loleini Tonga understood that others believed she turned Henry’s life around. She told attendees it was Henry who changed her life.

Loleini Tonga sat bedside with Henry throughout Wednesday night reported her mother to Fox News. Now moments ago, Loleini Tonga’s final moments with Henry reportedly banging against her truck window is described in newly released 911 Tape transcripts. The transcripts describe Henry on the back of her truck banging with her shirt off and his arm in a cast. By 6:36 am, Chris Henry was pronounced dead.

Loleini Tonga was credited by Henry for turning his career around. In 2008, he started that resurgence. His numbers for the Bengals in 2009 were decent, 12 receptions and 2 TDs produing 236 yards. Henry is survived by three children and girlfriend Loleini Tonga.

The second 911 call would end as follows:

Operator 2: Ok, can you find out if he’s awake?

Man: No, he’s definitely unconscious he is not awake.

Operator 2: How old is he?

Man 2: he looks like mid-20’s. Black male.

Operator 2: Ok, I can give you instructions to try to help him but you have to be right with him

Man: There’s somebody checking his pulse and stuff right now

Operator 2: “Is he breathing?”

For his 5 years in the league, he produced 21 TDs, 119 receptions, over 1826 yards. His last game was against the Ravens in which he delivered on 1 reception and 20 yards. In week 7 against the Bears, he had 1 TD with 2 receptions and 26 yards.

The first 911 Chris Henry call is describes Henry on the back of the truck with no shirt on smashing against fiancée Loleini Tonga’s window.

The caller says “[A] black man [is] on it with no shirt on, and he’s got his arm in a cast and black pants on.”

“He’s beating on the back of this truck window… I don’t know if he’s trying to break in or something. It just looks crazy. It’s a girl driving it.”

The second Chris Henry 911 call came in after he had falledin off the truck. “[There is] a crowd of people around him … [someone is] taking his pulse.”

Before the start of the 2009 season, Henry in training camp told AP that he was blessed.

“I don’t live the way I did in the past,” Henry said, in an interview with The Associated Press during training camp. “I kind of plan my days out and take it one day at a time and stay away from the wrong people. I’m not partying anymore. I’m just focused on football right now and my family. I don’t associate with the same people. I’ve completely changed everything.”

She’s been right here with me and going through things and helping out on my side. We have the kids, and she has my back with everything I’ve needed.”

In 2007, he was arrested again. That fifth arrest resulted in him being released. Coach Marvin Lewis convinced the team to bring him back for a 2 year contract starting in 2008.

The Bengals organization, NFL, and fans everywhere are shocked by the death of Chris Henry who is being remembered today as a star Bengals player who turned around his life after five years in the league. Chris Henry was a 3rd round draft pick, let go by the Bengals after a series of incidents off the field, then resigned for two years.

Chris Henry started the 2009 season – in which he would deliver decent numbers including 2 important TDs – as turning his life around and thankful he had a second chance. On Wednesday that life was cut short, as Chris Henry fell off the back of a moving pickup truck.

In 2009, Chris Henry had 12 receptions and 2 TDs produing 236 yards. For his 5 years in the league, he produced 21 TDs, 119 receptions, over 1826 yards. His last game was against the Ravens in which he delivered on 1 reception and 20 yards. In week 7 against the Bears, he had 1 TD with 2 receptions and 26 yards.

Bengals Mike Brown issued the following statement last night:

” Chris has suffered grave injuries in an accident in Charlotte. We are monitoring the situation and awaiting further word on his condition. We are stunned to have learned this news, and our prayers are with Chris. Rusty Guy, our director of security, is arriving in Charlotte this morning. He will be in close touch with the appropriate parties and will offer the club’s assistance to Chris’ family gathered there.”
