Leona Lewis Beijing

Leona Lewis with Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page have been added to the names of British representatives for the Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremonies. Leona Lewis will give with Page a performance in the Beijing Olympics Closing Event alongside Boris Johnson, mayor of London, host of the next Summer Olympics.

Pop singer Leona Lewis is from Hackney, East London. She is reported to be singing a duet with Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page during the Closing Ceremony, the song yet not known. That’s a huge honor for Lewis, just 23, who will be seen by 150 million people worldwide.

Meantime more details about David Beckham’s Olympic entrance during the ceremony are now coming out. Beckham, 33, will enter the Bird’s Nest on a Routemaster double decker bus where he will come out with children of the world.

Johnson will receive the flag as the host of the next Olympics game. PLUS! … There is said to be a show in Trafalgar Square with street events in 10 British cities to be telecast during the Olympic closer.

Unbelievable!

Led Zeppelin Returns to Stage

Posted on December 10th, 2007 in Led Zeppelin by lalate

As lalate first reported to you in November, Led Zeppelin is set to return to the stage for the first time in 19 years. Tonight, it will happen.

Billed as the biggest event of the year, some 20 million people sought to purcahse the 18,000 tickets, priced at $250 each, for the show at London’s O2 Arena tonight Monday.

But whether it will ever happen again after tonight, don’t cross your fingers. Taking the stage are original members Page, 63; John Paul Jones, 61, and Robert Plant, 59. New is Jason Bonham, 41, to take the place of his father, John Bonham, who died in 1980.

But whether there could be any future tours, Page has said he wants to, Jones has been noncommittal and Plant has said “Don’t ask.”

How big is this event? One person paid $170,000 for two tickets!
