LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – While Karina Smirnoff is winning fans with her Playboy pics hitting newsstands today, Smirnoff could win the Dancing with the Stars season with Ralph Macchio if her performances continue to shine. Before any mention of Playboy photos hitting news this week, Smirnoff had hit the ABC reality show with a blockbuster week one delivery. But now the question remains whether Smirnoff could have her best year since her finale with Mario Lopez in season three.

While Hugh Hefner this week told news that he gives Karina top scores for his May 2011 issue, Karina has been making news since week one of this season of DWTS. She’s proven with Macchio that they can go from Fox Trot to Waltz effortlessly. Their praises from the judges, and nearly unbeatable scores, have also proven they are fluid, consistent, inspired, and driven to win. It’s rare, even in this competitive season, to see a couple this tight from week one.

She might be worth of turning pages on the newsstands this week, but in week one of DWTS Karina got top marks for her twenty-four scored Foxtrot. Carrie Ann Inaba was blown away “That was just an amazing surprise!” Len Goodman said “It’s the best foxtrot tonight. Well done!” And Bruno praised the pair.

In week two, they hit the mark again, delivering a twenty-one for their jive. Their waltz this week, for some, was their best performance since week two nabbing a twenty-five. Len remarked “You’ve been in the wilderness for two weeks” added “you’re back”.

Many of their reviews have praised the pair for vibrant expression through dance.

Bruno this week told them they displayed “Brilliant storytelling through dancing.” Carrie Ann agreed, noting that the two are unbeatable in storytelling. “When you dance, you’re so honest .. I was swept in, I was carried through the story.”

Karina Smirnoff’s Playboy photos come in a season in which the pro dancer has a chance of winning it all. This season, Karina and Ralph Macchio have stunned the judges. But this April, Karina stunned Hef with a spread that he gave top scores.

In previous seasons, the “stars” of Dancing with the Stars have not been the pro dancers. But this season, that is changing with Smirnoff and Co dominating news off the ballroom floor. Now Karina is getting top praise from Playboy’s head for her upcoming pictures. Earlier this month, Karina posed for the publication. Now Hef tells news that those April 6 Playboy pics are “unforgettable”.

And while the unforgettable spread hits stands this May 2011, Karina is delivering unforgettable dance performance this season with Ralph Macchio.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Karina Smirnoff Playboy photos will hit the May 2011 issue, confirms Playboy to news. Karina Smirnoff Playboy pictures did not get the Dancing with the Stars professional dancer in trouble with ABC, as incorrect reports initially claimed. The pics were taken by Playboy on April 6 confirms Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

Hefner tells news today that Smirnoff’s Playboy spread will be one of the publication’s best this year. “It’s a beautiful shoot and I’m very proud of it” said Hef.

In a news statement to LALATE, Playboy says “Karina Smirnoff is once again wowing audiences with her ballroom dancing skills…. The stunning dance pro is also dazzling Playboy readers as she appears on the cover of the magazine’s May issue and in an alluring 8-page … pictorial inside the magazine”.

In recent days, false reports claimed the ABC executives at Dancing with the Stars were furious at the “revelation” over the pics and were considering firing Smirnoff. Such was not the case. In fact, Smirnoff tells PEOPLE that they had been briefed ahead of time and had given their approval.

Karina opens up in the publication on everything from her romances, to her nose job, to even her time with Mario Lopez. “I’m fearless and love the adrenaline rush [in posing for Playboy”.

People Magazine has egg on its face today for choosing Mario Lopez the “Hottest Bachelor” alive. This is just days after an explosive revelation by actor Meagan Cooper claiming that Lopez cheated on Karina Smirnoff with Cooper, even while Lopez was living with Smirnoff.
