Obama Spider-Man Comic

Besides Obama, other past presidents have been featured, but normally not with a cover. Marvel says Nixon was featured … but perhaps not in the best light. John F. Kennedy appeared in Action Comics #309 in 1963 concerning Clark Kent’s secret identity.

“If I can’t trust the president of the United States, who can I trust?” Superman told Kennedy.

“We do our best to be completely non-partisan and treat presidents with respect,” Marvel says. “This is not so much a pro-Obama statement but a tip of the hat to having a Spider-Man fan in the White House.”

Collectors say that it will probably shoot up to a value of $20 its first day.

Iseman is a top Washington lobbyist who sued The New York Times Tuesday to the tune of $27 million. Vicki’s suit claims the Times defamed her with “sensational allegations and insinuations” that John McCain and her were lovers.

The article was reportedly a front page, ran in February. Iseman says it was based on “minimum factual support” and caused an “avalanche of scorn, derision, and ridicule.”

The Times’ response:

“We fully stand behind the article. We continue to believe it to be true and accurate, and that we will prevail”.

McCain Palin Blackberry!

Posted on December 15th, 2008 in John McCain, Sarah Palin by lalate

McCain Palin Blackberry

A McCain Palin campaign Blackberry bought by MyFoxDC for $20 hasyielded 300 contacts! The McCain Palin Blackberry was one of two bought for $20 each that yielded campaign contacts in the phone and unlisted information.

FOX 5 Investigative Reporter Tisha Thompson purchased one $20 Blackberry from the campaign last week. Then she bought a second one which had even more contacts, upwards of 300!

“FOX 5 has bought a second phone from the McCain campaign which contains even more information: photos from the Republican Convention, a personal calendar for campaign events leading up to the campaign, and more than 260 ‘contacts’ full of personal emails, phone numbers and addresses for McCain supporters. Included in those numbers was the personal cell phone number for former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore. “

So what did the station do? Call up Gilmore and tell them they got his phone number for a $20 purchase.

Needless to say, he wasn’t so please.

Since the report, the station has received tons of emails from people who say the information on phones THEY bought is “mind blowing.”

The sale occurred at McCain Campaign headquarters in Arlington Thursday.

McCain Wins Missouri

Posted on November 19th, 2008 in Barack Obama, Election, John McCain, St Louis by lalate

McCain Wins Missouri

McCain wins Missouri. John McCain wins Missouri says election results just announced today. McCain’s Missouri win breaks a half century record for the state of Missouri.

A President has always had to win Missouri to win the presidency since 1956. This time, it clearly wasn’t the case.

Missouri was initially called an Obama win. Obama had been pictured on LALATE NEWS (video still up on LALATE2) as attracting over a 100,000 supporters at St Louis rally just weeks before the election.

In the end, today’s still unofficial results have McCain wining by less than 4,000 votes, out of total 2.9 million cast.

McCain Concession Speech VIDEO!

Posted on November 5th, 2008 in Election, John McCain by lalate

McCain Concession Speech VIDEO

VIDEO! Watch video of McCain’s Concession Speech. John McCain’s concession speech left a sadness for McCain supporters and respect from opponents still liking the man McCain, perhaps not his policies.

McCain’s concession speech and Obama’s acceptance speech showed a “peaceful” transfer of power, as analysts said last night.

McCain said:

“I urge all Americans … I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.

“Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that.

“It is natural. It’s natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again.

“We fought — we fought as hard as we could. And though we feel short, the failure is mine, not yours.”
