Get ready Harry Potter fans. A new BOOK! “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” from J.K. Rowling was JUST announced! Tales of Beedle the Bard was mentioned in the seventh Harry Potter Book being left to Hermione Granger by Professor Albus Dumbledore.

Now it can be yous in a new book dropping Decembe 4.Tales of the Beedle the Bard wil be released as a book of book of wizarding fairy tales in December with $8 million of its proceeds going to charity.

“The new edition will include the Tales themselves, translated from the original runes by Hermione Granger, and with illustrations by me, but also notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which appear by generous permission of the Hogwarts Headmasters’ Archive,” Rowling said in a statement.

Harry Potter Prequel Book

The 800 word hand written Prequel to Harry Porter book by J.K. Rowling, first profiled here on LALATE, has sold for $49,000 at a charity auction moments ago.

The charity auction benefitted “English PEN” and Dyslexia Action. The book today sold for 25,000 pounds, far less than a similar auction in December that nabbed an enormous 1.95 million pounds.“I had great fun writing the card and I’m absolutely delighted that it has raised 25,000 pounds for two such worthy causes,” said Rollings.

Today’s book was set at a time before Harry Potter was alive and is about Sirius Black and Harry’s father James. The book ends with the line “From the prequel I am not working on — but that was fun!”

Harry Potter PREQUEL!

“You’re a PREQUEL HARRY!” Harry Potter is getting a prequel book from JK Rowling.JK Rowling is one of LALATE’s favorite celebrities for all the great charity work she does. Now Rowling has written a prequel that will be auctioned off for charity. It’s less than 800 words.

“We never dreamed that J.K. Rowling would donate something so precious, and we’re incredibly grateful,” said Gerry Johnson, managing director of Waterstone’s, that is organizing the charity.

A 93-word storycard from Rowling sold in 2002 for $53,000. Thereafter, seven hand-written copies of “The Tales of Beedle the Bard,” were autioned, one nabbed $3.9 million in 2007.

The auction beneifts the Dyslexia Action and English PEN, a writers’ association.

How much will be prequel sell for? LALATE is predicting it will go for over $4 million!

J.K. Rowling Once Contemplated Suicide before Harry Potter

The BBC reports that J.K. Rowling told an Edinburgh University student magazine that she once contemplated suicide before writing Harry Potter.She says it occured in the early 1990s, after separation from her first husband, Portuguese journalist Jorge Arantes.

“We’re talking suicidal thoughts here, we’re not talking ‘I’m a little bit miserable,’ ” Rowling told student Adeel Amini

“Mid-twenties life circumstances were poor and I really plummeted. The thing that made me go for help was probably my daughter …

“She was something that earthed me, grounded me, and I thought, this isn’t right, this can’t be right, she cannot grow up with me in this state.”

Albus Dumbledore is Gay, says J.K. Rowling

Ah yes Harry Potter readers, the rumors are true - Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay. More surprisingly, it’s the top news story anywhere this morning. OH MY!

J.K. Rowling, outed the character Friday night at Carnegie Hall in New York. After reading briefly from the final book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” she was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds “true love.” “Dumbledore is gay,” the author responded to gasps and applause.
