Tim Tebow Released by Jets, Free Agent Seeks Deal

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tim Tebow has been released by the Jets. Tim Tebow was released the New York Jets this morning April 29, 2013. The Jets will not be trading Tebow nor renewing his contract. So with Tim Tebow a free agent, where Tebow be signed next?
The releasing of Tebow by the Jets follows weeks of critical comments by news of the Jets’ organization. Joe Namath told news recently that Rex Ryan, in his opinion, took advantage of Tebow. “We can go right to the Tebow thing. I mean, come on,” Namath told news “If you’re bringing him in to play, where’s he been? Are you bringing him [in] to make other people practice longer? Are you bringing him in trying to get media headlines?”
Namath while praising NFL Draft picks by the Jets has been critical of the team’s trade moves. “And I don’t know who’s picking the players we bring in [here].”
Today’s Tebow news confirms an ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports weeks ago. Mortensen recently said that the Jets will not trade Tebow but simply release him. Jaguars owner Shad Khan previously told news after the Broncos’ signing of Peyton Manning that he was interested in Tebow. But he stayed with Blaine Gabbert at quarterback.
For now, Jets fans are still critical of the team’s front office for giving up so much for Tebow. The Jets gave up a “fourth- and sixth-round draft choices to Denver and received a seventh-rounder in return from the Broncos when Tebow chose New York”, ESPN reminds fans. “The Broncos also agreed to pay the Jets $2.53 million, or about half of what had been advanced to Tebow.”
