King’s supervisors told news Monday that at no time was King under investigation by his department. Rather, because of the public’s request for details, King’s supervisors sought a more detailed narrative by King. “The document was prepared as a means to be responsive to questions raised by representatives of the public”, not as part of an investigation, ASP told news. ASP also further clarified to news that “Captain King did not violate any State Police policy or state laws.”

King told his supervisor Major Les Braunns in a written statement issued to news last night that his involvement with the wreck did not begin because of Petrino nor Dorrell, but because of a call from his from a Sergeant. King received a cell phone call from Troop L Sergeant Gabe Weaver who told him that there had been an accident on Arkansas State Highway 16 in Madison County in the community of Crosses.

Weaver told King that the driver had left the scene by the time that Weaver had obtained his details. But Weaver called King after a run of the bike’s license plate came back as being owned by Petrino. “Sergeant Weaver said that Troop L Dispatch took the license number of the motorcycle from a witness and ran an ownership check on this license which returned to Arkansas Football Coach Bobby Petrino.”

King called Petrino and left a voice mail. This message to Petrino said “I don’t even know if this is your number anymore, but your motorcycle has been involved in an accident and I wanted to call and check on you.” Roughly three minutes later, an “unidentified female” called King back.

The female told King to meet him at the intersection of Crossover Road and Highway 16 to take Petrino to the hospital. The female said Petrino was hurt and was already en route to the emergency room.
King quickly learned from the female their meet up location. King called his supervisor ASP Highway Patrol Major Les Braunns and kept him informed of the situation.

King doesn’t tell news if the female on the phone was Dorrell. But he states “I pulled up on the parking lot approximately ten feet away from the white Cherokee and observed a white female helping Coach Petrino out of the passenger side rear of the car.” King said that Petrino was unable to speak, only grown. Petrino had swelling to his head and face and was covered in blood.

King states that he gave his cell phone to the female and told her to call him tomorrow. King said another trooper would need to call her for an interview. King doesn’t state if the female was Dorrell; but on Tuesday, Dorrell gave a statement to ASP.

King’s statement for the first time details to news the possible cause of the crash. Petrino told King en route to the hospital told King that allegedly “a gust of wind blew him off the road.”

ASP officials in a news statement said “Subsequently public inquiries have arisen asking the State Police to offer answers to questions relating to the sequence of events which precipitated State Police Captain Lance King”. At issue is what exactly happened between King, Petrino, and Dorrell shortly after the crash.

On that fateful Sunday, Petrino and Dorrell had gone for an evening bike ride. During that ride, for still unexplained reasons, Petrino crashed. Petrino and Dorrell landed in a ditch of debris, dirt and trees. After they emerged, Petrino was bleeding profusely.

Moment later, a witness spotted the two. The witness claims that, within five to ten minutes after the crash, Petrino and Dorrell were already leaving scene. The witness, Larry Hendren, offered 911 dispatch support. Petrino and Dorrell declined.

Two individuals, Benjamin Adam Williams and Jody Diane Stewart, then took Petrino to meet Captain Lance King. King was dispatched “to respond to the Fayetteville location” claims ASP in a news statement this weekend.

On Friday, King’s supervisors sought more detail from King. ASP is specifically seeking from King what he “may have learned about the crash during conversations with Coach Petrino.”

That new King report is due out this week, ASP told news last weekend that “Captain King has been asked by his supervisor to provide a detailed summary of his involvement with Coach Petrino and other individuals who’ve been identified within the crash investigation.”

Arkansans’ roughly $3.6 million annual contract with Petrino prohibits conduct “which negatively or adversely affects the reputation of the University or UAF’s athletics programs in any way.” Athletic director Jeff Long placed Petrino on paid administrative Thursday. Long’s decision was based upon Petrino’s failure to disclose that Dorrell was on his bike during the crash. But Long himself has yet to detail why Arkansas officials themselves weren’t able to learn that detail themselves.

Dorrell and Petrino, on Arkansas’s campus, both admitted to ASP on Tuesday their involvement with the crash. On Thursday Long suddenly told news he was surprised about the revelation. Long hasn’t been clear why college officials didn’t learn of the Dorrell link between Tuesday and Thursday.

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long has yet to tell news whether he has spoken to Long since last Sunday. Moreover, Long has yet to detail what efforts that Long undertook, himself, to learn of Dorrell’s involvement after the wreck.

Long was quick Friday to accuse Petrino of misleading university officials about the wreck. But by Tuesday, Dorrell was interviews by Arkansas State police officials about the wreck. And Petrino, on Arkansas’s campus, was interviewed as well.

In their interviews, both Dorrell and Petrino revealed that they were a part of the bike ride. But both Dorrell and Petrino have still not explained why the bike crashed. No mechanical failure nor driver error was determined as the cause of the bike crash by Arkansas State Police.

Jeff Long has yet to explain what efforts Arkansas college officials made to learn about the matter between Tuesday, when Dorrell admitted to the being with Petrino, and Thursday, when that police report was issued to news. Rather, on Friday, he blamed Petrino for the conduct.

But on Saturday, Larry Hendren’s 911 call was released to news. On the 911 tape, Larry Hendren tells a dispatcher that he found Petrino and Dorrell emerging from a ditch and declining 911 assistance. Hendren tells the dispatcher that the two emerged from a massive bike wreck, and yet declined any 911 involvement.

Rather Benjamin Adam Williams and Jody Diane Stewart took Dorrell and Petrino to a local intersection, away from the crash scene. Williams and Stewart brought Dorrell to her car; she took off, while Petrino’s security rep took him to a local hospital.

Petrino is married with four children. Bobby Petrino’s wife has yet to comment about the news. Petrino, himself, admitted Thursday to a “previous inappropriate relationship”. Petrino has been put on administrative leave by Long.

Dorrell’s job status, however, remains unknown. She was hired by Petrino just days before the Petrino crash. Petrino, who is engaged, has also not issued a news statement, declining comment about the matter. “She’s in safe mode right now,” a Dorrell friend said in a news statement Sunday April 8, 2012.

In August, 2009, Rick Pitino admitted to an affair with Karen Cunagin Sypher (aka Karen Sypher). But after the Pitino scandal erupted, in a news statement, he spoke about the importance of coach’s telling the truth. “I made a very difficult decision to tell the truth to the federal authorities, the local authorities, the university officials and most importantly, the people that love me the most: my family and friends.”

Arkansas State Police Captain Lance King is assigned to Petrino during the season. But late Friday, King was the subject of further inquiry following his involvement with the Petrino bike wreck.

Arkansas State Police told news Friday that Capt. Lance King picked up Petrino, from Dorrell, and took him to a local hospital. Officials in a news statement Thursday said that “the Arkansas State Police completed its investigation of the motor-vehicle crash involving Robert Petrino and Jessica Dorrell.” But after that determination was complete, and their report was issued to news, public interest grew about King’s knowledge.

Arkansas State Police continued their investigation. On Thursday, they told news “Subsequently public inquiries have arisen asking the State Police to offer answers to questions relating to the sequence of events which precipitated State Police Captain Lance King to respond to the Fayetteville location where he met Coach Petrino and any information Captain King may have learned about the crash during conversations with Coach Petrino.” Late yesterday, King was asked by his supervisor to give a new detailed timeline of the Bobby Petrino wreck.

The news statement further read “Captain King has been asked by his supervisor to provide a detailed summary of his involvement with Coach Petrino and other individuals who’ve been identified within the crash investigation.” King’s statements are due out next week. “It is the intention of the Arkansas State Police to have information from the summary which may be shared with the public early next week. What information will be released will depend on what facts Captain King provides to his supervisor.”

Long, himself, however, was aware that King was Petrino’s personal security guard during the season. So questions now exist whether Long himself took any effort to question King after the accident, or simply relied on Petrino’s assurances that he was alone during the wreck.

Long has also not detailed to news if he took any effort to question Dorrell. Dorrell’s involvement with the crash was revealed to news on Thursday. The revelation came as the State police report was issued.

But Petrino and Dorrell told investigators on Tuesday of their involvement in the crash. Long has yet to tell news how he and Arkansas didn’t know about Dorrell’s involvement from Tuesday to Thursday, even though the two had already admitted the details to investigators on Tuesday, on Arkansas’ property.

Dorrell wasn’t just a co-worker of Petrino’s. On March 31, Petrino hired her. Jessica Dorrell, a former volleyball champ, was heralded by Bobby Petrino in news statements that day. But April 1, in the late evening, he was off down an Arkansas highway with his new hire on the back of his bike.

Benjamin Adam Williams and Jody Diane Stewart came to Petrino and Dorrell’s assistance after the wreck. Witness Larry Hendren saw the crash and offered to call 911. But Benjamin Adam Williams and Jody Diane Stewart quickly took Petrino and Dorrell away from the crash, less than five minutes after the accident. Petrino and Dorrell both declined 911 assistance from Hendren.

Hendren told 911 that the two were “on highway 16, they were northbound and it’s somewhere between Elkins and Durham. It’s a quarter of a mile east of the Pig Tail Store. Quarter of a mile from the crosses store .. Pig Tail Store at crosses. “ He later added “it looked like his face was bleeding quite a lot, but she did not look to be very injured. She’s the passenger. The gentleman was walking, but it looked like his face was bleeding quite a lot. He was walking on his own power.”

Emerging from the ditch, Dorrell was not injured. But Petrino was bleeding profusely, yet able to walk. The witness, Larry Hendren, offered his assistance to Petrino and his 25 year old blonde bike companion and recent employee hire. But they declined.

Larry Hendren told 911 dispatch that the couple were “walking, but it looked like his face was bleeding quite a lot.” After they “were getting out of the ditch”, they got out of the crash scene promptly as well. The two left in a private car.

Hendren reveals that the couple didn’t want him to call 911. “The rider and the passenger of the motorcycle declined us to call 911″. Hendren says that “They got into a vehicle and headed toward the hospital.”

But that’s not what happened. Benjamin Adam Williams and Jody Diane Stewart took them to an intersection. Then, the two split up. Dorrell was transported to her own private car. She left Petrino, covered with blood. He, in turn, was put in the care of his security guard, Capt. Lance King, who took him to a local area hospital.

The 911 caller told dispatch “My name’s Larry and we’re on highway 16 between Elkins and Durham. It’s a motorcycle, a single-vehicle accident as near as I know.” He added “And the rider and the passenger of the motorcycle declined us to call 911. They got in a vehicle and headed to the hospital.”

He verified that Jessica wasn’t injured. “It looked like his face was bleeding quite a lot, but she did not look to be very injured. She’s the passenger. The gentleman was walking, but it looked like his face was bleeding quite a lot. He was walking on his own power.”

The caller claims that the couple were able to leave the crash scene in less than ten minute after it happened. “Five minutes, maybe 10. Robert and Rebecca and Petrino is the name they’re finding.” He added “No ma’am, I came by when they were getting out of the ditch. I can give you the license plate of the motorcycle if you like. I’ve got it here.”

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long confirms to news that an investigation is underway about Petrino’s cover-up. Petrino according to Long did not inform Arkansas that another passenger was on his bike at the time of the wreck. Petrino has since told news that he kept some “relationship” a secret to protect his “family”. He doesn’t state who he had the relationship with. But because of that secret, Arkansas issued a news statement incorrectly omitting reference to Dorrell.

Dorrell was hired by Petrino on March 28. The crash happened on April 1. Petrino last month brought the former volleyball champ over to become his Student-Athlete Development Coordinator; she previously worked for the Razorback Foundation.

Petrino’s misstatements continued. His family issued a news statement Sunday, he issued a press conference on Tuesday. In both occurrences, he covered up Dorrell as being involved in the accident.

Dorrell has since refused comment. She is engaged to Josh Morgan, the director of swimming and diving operations at Arkansas. He too has declined comment. Petrino admitted to an improper relationship yesterday, but wouldn’t describe what the relationship was, or who he had the relationship with.
