LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Jersey Shore Season 4 premiere ratings skyrocketed this week. Deena and JWoww may have called Sammi “boring like furniture” last season; but last night certainly wasn’t boring. The premiere broke multiple records for the cable network.

Season 4 from Italy debuted to massive numbers – 8.8 million. The episode was still not the highest ever for the series; that record was set back in January with a 8.9 share. But last night, Jersey Shore was the number one show on television, including all network and cable TV programs. The show delivered a four percent increase for the network compared to its season three premiere.

The premiere episode broke two records. It became the highest watched season premiere ever for MTV. It also was the third most watch broadcast in the cable channel’s history.

Online, JWoww treated her Facebook fans to a series of new pictures from her Maxim shoot. After last season’s record premiere, JWOWW told news “OMG, Jersey Shore 3 broke TV records for reality show ratings last night!! … Thank you to all the supporters and the haters who still watch us anyway.”

The series has show massive increases, season to season. For example, season 2 drew a reported 5.3 million viewers and 5.1 for viewers 12-34. At the time, that number broke a seven year record last set by the premiere of season 2 of The Osbournes.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Spencer Pratt claims an MTV producer believed in a “Snookie effect”, and asked Spencer Pratt to punch his sister Stephanie Pratt, on air for The Hills. Spencer Pratt eventually never punched Stephanie. But in a news interview, Pratt is swinging back at the producer he claims wanted to deliver TV rating with a punch.

In a news interview published this weekend, Spencer Pratt details his final season for MTV’s The Hills. He claims that his life was changed after a producer named Sara Mast had an alleged conversation with him. Pratt claims that Mast allegedly told him to punch his sister and fellow cast member, Stephanie Pratt, on air. Why? Pratt said that Mast called it the “Snooki effect”.

” ‘Her exact quote: ‘That Snooki effect,’ ‘ Spencer said, referring to a Jersey Shore episode in which cast member Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was hit by a fellow bar patron.” MTV, Mast, and the Hills creator refused to comment about the report.

Pratt implied the conversation occurred in spring 2010. In its second season, Jersey Shore’s highest numbers were 6.7. As of October 2010, Jersey Shore season 2 was averaging a 5.8 ratings share and 5.7 for P12-34. Season 2’s premiere drew a reported 5.3 million viewers and 5.1 for viewers 12-34. At the time, that number broke a seven year record last set by the premiere of season 2 of The Osbournes.

Heidi Montag next appears in “Famous Food” for VH-1.  At least some billboard advertisements for Famous Foods in West Los Angeles don’t feature Montag in the promotional picture.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – David Kovacs is engaged to Angelina Pivarnick, formerly of Jersey Shore. David Kovacs and Angelina Pivarnick have yet to set a wedding date but confirm their engagement to Radar this week.

Pivarnick is attempting to become a film actor, appearing in the upcoming flick Every Time I Go To Staten Island Something Bad Happens.

Since Pivarnick’s departure, Jersey Shore’s ratings have continued to climb. Jersey Shore’s season three premiere recently broke MTV records and was the number one most watched television show that night, even competing against network broadcasters. But after drawing a reported 8.5 ratings share on its premiere, Jersey ratings continued to rise. Its second episode drew a 8.6 ratings share, eclipsing its own record set last year of a 5.3 share.

The addition of newcomer Deena Cortese prompted The Situation to exclaim in the series premiere “I don’t know if she is drunk or stupid”. But he told Deena “You are going for rookie of the year award”.

BEVERLY HILLS (LALATE) – Playboy’s Camille Grammer last week proved that she has become the female biggest ratings draw for cable reality TV this year only behind the women of Jersey Shore. Camille Grammer and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have now for two weeks been slotted behind Jersey Shore as the highest viewed cable reality TV programs.

Jersey Shore two weeks ago broke MTV records with a 8.45 ratings share for its season three premiere. The episode in which JWoww and Snooki welcome newcomer Deena Cortese became the most watched series telecast ever for the network.

That changed its second week when Jersey broke the record again.

The January 13 broadcast of Jersey Shore season 3, episode 2 drew an additional 117000 viewers to reach a 8.6 ratings share. For Season 2, Jersey shore drew a 5.3 ratings share, breaking a seven year record set by Season 2 of the Osbournes.

But how about on the other coast?

As Jersey was drawing a 8.6, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills set its own Bravo record of 3.7 million viewers. But the big number came later in the evening. When Camille Grammer (who recently was voted by one report as the most disliked Housewife, ever) joined Andy Cohen for a live broadcast of WWHL, Grammer and Cohen drew 1.5 million viewers. Grammer’s appearance made WWHL become the highest watched talk show that night beating all cable talk shows. Grammer and Cohen beat CONAN (TBS), Chelsea Lately (E!), and Jon Stewart (Comedy Central).

Jwoww said of Jersey Shore’s first week – “OMG, Jersey Shore 3 broke TV records for reality show ratings last night!! 8.5 on the Nielsen! Thank you to all the supporters and the haters who still watch us anyway.” Both Jersey and Beverly Hills have continued to increase in the ratings, week to week.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS (LALATE) – Deena and JWoww don’t believe Sammi is much of a Sweetheart, at least this week on Jersey Shore. Deena Cortese and Jenni Farley’s anger with Sammi Sweetheart heats up this week after a feud over Sunday dinner hits the Shore.

“If you want to laugh at me, I will make you miserable” Deena told Sammi last week. As tensions grow, Sammi begins to isolate herself even from the ladies of the house. But as Pauly D explains, Sami doesn’t care. “They are not interesting in squashing their differences.”

No “squashing” happens on Sunday when Sammi commits the number one house sin: missing Sunday Dinner.

“You missed Sunday Dinner!” exclaims Pauly D. “I could care less. I’m not really good friends with these people at this point” Sammi exclaims.

So why doesn’t Sammi leave? Deena poses that question. “I don’t know why Sammi is here. She is boring. She’s like furniture.”

Despite the tensions, Snookie still believes there is still hope for Sammi. But is Snookie right? “I feel like Jenny and I still care about this girl.” Jwoww doesn’t agree with that, whatsoever. “No, no, I have nothing to say to that care…. It will smack you in the face later.”

As Sammi gets further detached from housemates, Deena keeps on fitting in better. “You are going for rookie of the year award” Mike told Deena on the season premiere. But, he like the other guys, are still unsure if Deena has it all together. “I don’t know if she is drunk or stupid.”
