Pauly D Not Dead – Fake Car Crash Death Story Prompts Confusion

Pauly D Not Dead - Fake Car Crash Death Story Prompts Confusion

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Pauly D is not dead. A fake Pauly D death story is prompting confusion today November 4, 2011. Pauly D didn’t die on “Interstate 80″, despite a fake celebrity crash report posted online today. For savvy Jersey Shore fans, the fake Pauly D death story is the same recently used to “kill off” David Guetta. And while Keyshia Cole, Lil Wayne, and Lady Gaga are also victims of fake death stories Friday, Pauly D’s death appears to be the most ironic.

Fake celebrity death stories often originate from several different sources and often via several different social networking methods. But in recent months, music celebrities are most often targeted with death stories concerning “Route 80″. In July, David Guetta was fictitiously listed dead in a car crash on Route 80. Then the same thing happened to DJ Tiesto. To no surprise, the same fake death story even exists for Armin Van Buuren.

It remains unclear why people write fake celebrity death stories in the first place. But if it’s a DJ, or a music leader, the fake death story is unusually the same. The location is always listed as being on “Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell”. The work of fiction always claims that the DJ “lost control while driving a friend’s vehicle”. The picture, the story, and the date (which dynamically updates daily) are all the same. Even the car in the “crash” picture doesn’t look an auto sold in the last twenty years.

If it’s not a car crash, then it’s usually a skiing or snowboarding accident. Most recently, Adam Sandler was the victim of a fake snowboarding death story. Fake additions to the stories even further confuse fans like “Local Team News 9? and “Highway Safety Investigators Board”, entities that sound believable but are fabricated.

Some fans are furious by today’s fake Pauly D report. Other fans are perplexed by the confusion. The culprit may have spread the false reports on Facebook. “Is Pauly D really dead? Facebook is posting it like crazy. Someone please answer my question.” Other fans are posting comments to fellow Jersey Shore cast members asking answers. “So on Facebook I’m hearing that Pauly D is dead from a car accident. Please say it isn’t true.” Pauly D is not dead, nor is Adam Sandler nor David Guetta. But as long as people believe fake plane, train, and snowboarding accident stories, confusion will continue.

The Situation Apple Store iPod Controversy Erupts

The Situation Apple Store iPod Controversy Erupts

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – There was “a Situation” at the Apple Store concerning Mike Sorrentino this week. The Situation allegedly cut the line at the Apple Store to get the new iPhone, only to be thrown out of the store and denied an iPhone all together, claims the new report. On the Jersey Shore, The Situation is usually fighting with Ronnie. But this week, The Situation was reportedly battling Apple store officials.

The Jersey rumble allegedly erupted after Sorrentino headed to a local store to purchase the new iPhone 4S. Sorrentino reportedly went to the Store on the iPhone 4S launch date, a day that prompted thousands of lines across the country. Rather than wait in line, The Situation is accused of trying to cut the line.

Persons in the line spotted the drama and allegedly contacted store officials. When Sorrentino got to the front of the line, the store allegedly recognized The Situation (who was not flexing his abs), and reportedly tossed him out of the store.

The Situation has yet to comment about the report.

The Situation GTL Trademark Dispute Lacks Grip: EXCLUSIVE

The Situation GTL Trademark Dispute Lacks Grip: EXCLUSIVE

CORAL GABLES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – The Situation claims his GTL trademark is being used without his authorization by a website MYGTLFUEL.com or GLT Fuel LLC of Florida. But as LALATE has learned, the Situation has no trademark rights to “GLT Fuel”. While the Situation, Mike Sorrentino (Jersey Shore), reportedly is intending to bring suit against the owner of GTL Fuel, the suit may have zero trademark basis.

LALATE has learned that, in February this year, GTL Fuel, LLC, a Florida based company, applied for a trademark for “GTL Fuel” for the class of goods specifically described as “energy drinks”. In August this year, the trademark was issued to GTL Fuel LLC.

In April, GTL Fuel also applied for a trademark for “GTL Fuel” for the class for goods described as “plastic tubes for packaging of non-alcoholic drinks in test tube shape container.” The trademark was issued on October 4 this year.

The reported dispute Sorrentino has with GLT Fuel LLC is the use of “GTL Fuel” for energy drinks, exactly the trademark that was issued to Fuel LLC, not Sorrentino. Only GLT Fuel LLC has trademarks to GTL Fuel for energy drinks.

Moreover,  Sorrentino’s company MPS Entertainment has never even applied for a trademark for “GTL Fuel” in energy drinks. So what does Sorrentino own?

First, he owns GTL to be used for “personal appearances by an entertainer”. Second, he owns GTL to be used for “health and fitness spa services” such as providing help to “make health, wellness and nutritional changes” in people’s lives. Third, he owns GTL Finder for computer applications with mobile devices.

Sorrentino does not own any trademark for GTL or GTL Fuel concerning energy drinks. In fact, Sorrentino just recently filed an application to get a trademark for GTL for  “dietary supplemental drinks” and other meal replacements. The application is still under staff review. And based upon the existing GTL Fuel trademark issued for energy drinks, the attempt by Sorrentino get a trademark of GTL dietary drinks will probably prompt review by the Trademark Office; the Office will have to determine if the Situation’s application should be approved as filed or whether the two marks are too similar.

Deena Cortese Snooki Kiss Prompts Lesbian Questions on Jersey Shore, Again

Jwoww on Regis and Kelly Interview Discusses Jersey Shore Success

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Deena Cortese and Snooki kiss tonight prompts lesbian questions on Jersey Shore, again. Deena Cortese and Snooki have a faux lesbian makeout session on the Thursday night broadcast. The kiss follows a recent episode in which Deena stole a girl from Vinny Guadagnino’s bed.

Sammi Giancola first spots the Deena – Snooki makeout session on Jersey Shore tonight. Sammi exclaims to viewers “What the — is going on .. Deena, are you a lesbian?!” Of course, that question was asked of Deena earlier in this season. Moreover, “is Deena a lesbian” has been the angle episode to episode.
Even JWoww (Jenni Farley) is left surprised and grossed out. “Nicole and Deena are … I am so skeeved out!” Vinny earlier in the season had a girl dragged out of his bed by Deena. But tonight, Vinny tells fans and news he is still surprised by Deena’s conduct.

Snooki defends her conduct. Snooki says tonight’s episode proves to the world that her talents. “I luv making out, I think I am the best kisser on this whole planet, or “in” this whole planet, um, “on” this whole planet.”

If you wonder if MTV is pushing this faux-lesbian angle a bit too much, a quick perusal of Deena’s quotes this season to news appear to indicate the same. She recently told US Magazine that she did not hookup with that girl earlier in the season. Rather “I decided I didn’t want to do that. Now I realize I was a little bi-curious, and I realized I do like boys.” Cortese has previously told fans and news “I always said that if I was ever to be bi-curious it would be with a hot blonde… She was adorable.”

Even before joining the cast, Cortese had pictures of herself on MySpace making out with other women. She told the NY Post months ago “I’m not a lesbian, but when I get drunk I like to kiss. I guarantee you anyone has those kinds of pictures on their computer.”

Storage Wars Beating Jersey Shore In Weekly Ratings

Storage Wars Beating Jersey Shore In Ratings

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Is Storage Wars more popular than Jersey Shore? Last week it certainly was. While Storage Wars doesn’t boast a cast with multi-million dollar salaries, the A&E reality show, which does also examine other people’s baggage every week, delivered a historic night last week. On September 8, Storage Wars delivered the most watch episode of any series in A&E history. In contrast, Jersey Shore delivered its lowest watch episode of the season.

For any viewer of A&E programming, it’s no surprise that Storage Wars is A&E’s number one series. A commercial runs on the network repeatedly reminding viewers about the show’s success. But it’s not until you hear the numbers from last week that you truly grasp how popular Storage Wars has become.

The Kardashians, the Housewives, even The Situation might all be house-hold names in America; but when it comes down to the ratings, only one show last week made ratings analysts go O-Woww: Storage Wars.

In statement to news, A&E says last week’s “episode of …  “Storage Wars” drew record ratings for the network with back-to-back episodes at 10pm and 10:30pm. The 10:30 episode of “Storage Wars” hit a series high of 5.3 million viewers making it the series’ most watched episode and the network’s #1 original series telecast of all time.”

And if you think young people only want to younger themed reality shows, think again. A&E reports that Storage Wars’ pulled 2.3 million viewers from its youngest demographic. The same week, Jersey Shore delivered its lowest ratings of the season at 3.9 million viewers. Storage Wars airs Wednesday night at 10:30 pm.

OTIS Music Video from “Watch the Throne” Helps Jersey Shore

Otis Music Video from Watch the Throne Helps Jersey Shore

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The premiere of “Otis”, the music video from “Watch The Throne”, will give Jersey Shore its biggest possible music lead-in of the month, if not the season. Otis’ music video makes its world premiere tonight across MTV channels, and in conjunction with a new episode of Jersey Shore. Could tonight’s Jersey Shore ratings eclipse last week’s record numbers? If anyone could do it, it would be Kanye West and Jay-Z.

Marketing precision has been at play with this week’s deployment of Watch the Throne. An album designed by Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci, a cover even wrapped in embossed gold Mylar, coupled with incredible tracks, have helped “Watch The Throne” captivate the nation’s attention this week. Now, tonight, Kanye West will debut what he calls “luxury wrap”, the music video for Otis.

After an initial preview video clip (see below) debuted online this week, critics gave praise to both the album and Otis. Riccardo Tisci designed the single art for Otis as well; the music video was directed by Spike Jonze. Some fans are most excited about New Day, others about Gotta Have It, the Neptunes-produced track. LALATE has embraced Beyonce’s single “Lift Off”.

And while Jersey Shore airs a new episode on MTV tonight at 9 PM EST, Otis will debut Thursday night on MTV at 8:56 PM EST/PST and also on MTV2, MTU, and BET.
