LOS ANGELES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Jenni Rivera’s funeral will feature a Long Beach Sports Arena memorial. What date is Jenni Rivera’s funeral and where is Jenni’s funeral? The Jenni Rivera funeral will be supplemented with a Long Beach Arena public memorial on December 19, 2012 from 9 am to noon, LALATE can report.
On Sunday, Mexico news suggested that el Sports Arena de la ciudad de Long Beach had been selected by the Rivera family for Jenni Rivera’s memorial for Wednesday. While the date and time has not been officially confirmed, the family reportedly was key on having the memorial in Long Beach. Following the public memorial, the family will hold a private funeral at All Souls Cemetery, Mexico news claims.
Arrangements at the Long Beach Sports Arena are still pending. But reports last week indicated that the Rivera family wanted a musical tribute for Jenni as well.
Meantime, other tributes are planed over the coming months. Artistic director of the Plaza de las Estrellas, Edoardo Narvaez, tells Univision that bronze footprints for Jenni Rivera originally set to be debuted this month will be held over until March 2013. A replica of bronze hands have already been given to Pedro Rivera.
Juan Rivera told news this week “We have appreciated all your prayers and expressions of solidarity, just ask them to stop and say that my sister died, she just graduated to a better life.” He added that fans should not weep but “celebrate the life God gave us next to Jenni. Want to celebrate all the success they had.”
He also told news “I want to call it speculation run out, in all this there was no third party or kidnappings or attacks, because my sister had no enemies. “We’re bouncing as she asked, with the band. She was a great friend with whom we share stage, so we come to fulfill her wishes.”
Questions still remain. Why did a plane, hired by a Las Vegas talent management firm, crash only ten minutes into flight? The plane had only been sixty two miles into its flight when it crashed in Iturbide. With the wreckage spread over several yards, few answers remain. Jenni told news in her final interview Sunday “I can’t focus on the negative. Because that will defeat you. That will destroy you…. The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up.” On Sunday, Lupillo Rivera wrote “Jenni, today I concluded the project you started … God and you are on my side! I miss you.” Send your love.
UPDATE: The memorial will instead by held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles on Wednesday December 19, 2012.
