Bachelor Jason Mesnick’s skill at being unable to make up his mind was a ratings hit. The Bachelor Mesnick’s ratings for its season finale were a smash, crushing everything, not just a girl’s heart he had proposed to only to dump.

Bachelor’s 2 hour finale with Mesnick pulled in a monster 15.5 ratings share, its highest Bachelor ratings numbers since 2005 and the highest for adults since 2003.

Says series creator Mike Fleiss:

“Whenever a show is really good, people think it’s too good to be true. But this time it’s just really-really good. It was a true change of heart.:

ABC said they chose to run the dumping on national television since it was within the “world” of the Bachelor….

… however, confusing Jason Mesnick’s world really is.

LALATE would like to coin a phrase. It’s called “Doing a Mesnick”. With After the Final Rose Part 2 set to air tonight, you probably can guess what “Doing a Mesnick” is.

Doing a Mesnick describes a guy who can’t make up his mind up about women and leads them on, only leaving them in tears along the way.

Last night’s After the Rose Part 1 was “Doing a Mesnick” at its worse. LALATE had first reported the spoilers for the Bachelor’s finale, and honestly, didn’t you think the spoilers were fake? Come on, that Mesnick proposes, then dumps, then reunites with the other girl? Sure enough, the spoilers were true.

ABC says of today’s episode the following:

“THE BACHELOR: AFTER THE FINAL ROSE, PART 2″ BRINGS AN EMOTIONAL CONCLUSION TO THIS SEASON OF “THE BACHELOR,” TUESDAY, MARCH 3 ON ABC

“The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, Part 2″ Jason Mesnick, the first single dad in “Bachelor” history, will appear with both of the final two women he selected on this exciting and moving look back at the journey they all took together. Viewers will be treated to the latest update on the happy couple and the woman Jason didn’t choose on this one-hour special that will wrap the 13th and most successful season of ABC’s popular romance reality series in recent years, on “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, Part 2,” TUESDAY, MARCH 3 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

And ironically the ABC statement (issued weeks ago) describes Mesnick perfectly.

Jason is more confused than ever as he heads into the rose ceremony in New Zealand. With three women and only two roses, he makes a tough decision and sends one woman home in tears, while the final two women prepare to meet his family and hope that he will choose them in the dramatic season finale.

Hope to choose? Hardly.

Yep. Jason Mesnick can’t make up its mind. And if you are wondering why Jason Mesnick was a Bachelor in the first place, when you see how he treats Melissa during “After the Final Rose”, you’ll understand why.

Spoilers were correct. Mesnick gave the finale rose to Melissa, leaving Molly in tears. And then in the reunion episode taped six weeks later, he dumps Melissa for Molly.

While Melissa Rycroft was the “winner” of The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick dumps her for Molly Malaney. Molly Malaney won Jason Mesnick’s heart, eventually, on tonight’s The Bachelor proving two things:

2. Spoilers are reliable

Yes, the spoilers LALATE broke to you earlier tonight were 100% correct. Melissa won “The Bachelor” (aka the finale of the reality tv series). But after that finale, all three reunited on a closed (no audience) set taped six weeks later. That reunion episode aired after the finale was called “After the Final Rose, Part 2″ .

It might as well be called ABC meets Jerry Springer.

The basics – Jason tells Chris Harrison he doesn’t love Melissa now six weeks since the finale and he misses Molly. So what does Jason do? He dumps Melissa out of left field on national television. Such a gentleman.

Harrison asks Jason if he’s spoke to Melissa about this. Of course not – he left it for national television … and ratings. From there – Jason breaks up with Melissa, only to reunite with Molly, winning her bachelor in the end.
