Residents moreover reported that the quakes “lasted quite a while. Then just moments later, an aftershock occurred, weaker and shorter lasting and I think there was yet another aftershock after that as well. This was the third one this year. I am getting worried.”

Residents in Milan also report massive shaking and sounds prior and after the quake.”The quake could be felt in Milan as well. While the Italy earthquake resulted in more than a half dozen deaths, dozens of people injured, and destruction of key historic landmarks, Parmigiano and Grana cheese manufacturers are warning news of their own damage; their huge rounds of cheese fell down during the earthquake as well.

Officials would not tell news how the cheese was damaged, or if the cheese was ultimately slated to become grated parmesan for retail buyers.

In fact, there is even disagreement among how many cheese rounds have been damaged. One lobby group reported to news that nearly four hundred thousand rounds might have been damaged. Reps tell news that after the quake erupted, the sound was loud, not of the earthquake, but of the parmesan wheels falling down.

Officials are advising the public they aren’t sure what to do with all the rounds of cheese that have fallen down and crumbled. For now, they are trying to grate the parmesan situation, one round at a time. For more on the quake, the death toll and structures damaged, click HERE.
