Hillary Clinton Falls Asleep During Obama Speech

Hillary Clinton Falls Asleep During Obama Speech

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Hillary Clinton allegedly fell asleep during an Obama speech this week, reports news. As viewers will remember, Bill Clinton, as well, fell asleep during a MLK speech in 2006.

Hillary Clinton allegedly fell asleep during Monday’s Myanmar’s University of Yangon Presidential address. President Barack Obama was visiting the University and discussing foreign policy. But during Obama’s speech, Clinton sat among spectators and close to the TV camera’s glare.

CNN cameras panned over to Clinton at one point. She was sitting next to “Nobel Peace Prize winner and former Burmese dissident Aung San Suu Kyi, who is now a member of Burma/Myanmar’s parliament”, reports Mediaite.

Critics were not so sure if Clinton was awake or “blinky”. TheBlaze.com suggests that Clinton is dozing off. “You’re taking a journey that has the potential to inspire so many people,” Obama said during the speech.

In 2008, the NY Post captured Bill Clinton falling asleep during a MLK Speech. As one viewer wrote, “I like the part where he was checking what time it was”. Another added “I love how he tries to play it off.” Clinton has yet to comment about the tape. Below are videos of both Clinton moments.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was visiting Congo Monday when she had a town-hall meeting. A translator offered Hillary a question about what Bill Clinton would think of an issue.

Hillary’s response –

“I will you tell you my opinion, I’m not going to channel my husband!”

The event unfolded at Congolese University in Kinshasa. Online reaction to the video today is mixed – supporters saying they don’t see anything wrong with the clip with detractors finding faults with her attitude.

Marc Mezvinsky Chelsea Clinton Wedding

Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton are getting married, claims reports. The wedding of Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton will be this summer says reports.

Reportedly a $1 million wedding is planned. She’s 29, he’s 31, employed on Wall Street, and son of former Iowa congressman Ed Mezvinsky. Says tattlers:

“Chelsea hasn’t even admitted that she’s engaged to Marc, but that’s not stopping her from planning a wedding. She’s always dreamed of having a special wedding, and these days that could set her parents back a million dollars, but they’d give her anything her heart desires for the event.”

The wedding’s location reportedly will be where the couple met in 1993:

“Hilton Head is a good bet because that’s where she met Marc in 1993 at a Renaissance Weekend, an annual event for heavy-hitters that their families attended.”

No official confirmation from the two.

Kristen Gillibrand Senate

Kristen Gillibrand is David Paterson’s pick for New York Senator. David Paterson will announce Kristen Gillibrand for Senate, as Hillary Clinton’s replacement, at a press conference Friday.

LALATE NEWS was the first news site online to break this story early Thursday morning. Now late Thursday, over a dozen news sites are confirming LALATE’s first report.

Kristen Gillibrand is currently a first term Congresswoman. Her bio reads:

Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand was sworn into office on January 4th, 2007 and is serving her first term as U.S. Representative to New York’s Twentieth Congressional District, which stretches across the upstate counties of Saratoga, Dutchess, Columbia, Rensselaer, Washington, Warren, Delaware, Greene, Essex and Otsego.

Patterson will make the Kristen Gillibrand Senate announcement Friday noon from Albany.

LALATE first broke the withdrawal earlier this week of Caroline Kennedy from consideration. Today the New York Times claims a housekeeper was behind the Kennedy withdrawal and that Paterson wasn’t going to choose her anyway. But broadcast news late Thursday says Paterson is stunned while other reports say Kennedy may have already been offered a job by Obama.

Late Thursday, reports say Kirsten Gillibrand will be the name announced by Paterson Friday as Clinton’s senate replacement.

This is an excerpt of Kirsten ’s bio:

Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand was sworn into office on January 4th, 2007 and is serving her first term as U.S. Representative to New York’s Twentieth Congressional District, which stretches across the upstate counties of Saratoga, Dutchess, Columbia, Rensselaer, Washington, Warren, Delaware, Greene, Essex and Otsego.

In her first term in office, Congresswoman Gillibrand has established herself as an independent leader in Congress. She was the lead sponsor of legislation that would implement the bipartisan 9/11 Commission Recommendations, which will help protect our borders and keep America safe. She has been an advocate for decreased federal spending, and introduced legislation that would require the federal government – just as all New York families do – to balance their budget every year. Finally, she has made tax cuts for Upstate and North Country families, one of her highest priorities. She has authored legislation that would double the tax credit for child care expenses and make up to $10,000 in college tuition tax deductible.

Congresswoman Gillibrand has taken unprecedented steps to make her office accountable and transparent to her constituents. She was the first Member of Congress to publish their public schedule online at the end of each day, and as a strong proponent of earmark reform, she voluntarily released every earmark that she requested that would invest in Upstate and North Country priorities.

Still developing …

Following the withdrawal of Caroline Kennedy for the Clinton Senate seat, leading reports say New York Governor David Paterson will choose Kristen Gillibrand tomorrow as New York’s next senator.

Reports say leading state Democratic officials all want Kristen Gillibrand. While no confirmation, Kristen Gillibrand is expected to be the name announced tomorrow by the Governor.

This is what Kristen says about tax cuts:

Working for Middle Class Tax Cuts I believe in creating opportunities for our middle-class families to thrive. To do that we need to bring significant tax relief to Upstate New York. Every year, too much of your hard earned money goes to Washington, and I am committed to easing the tax burden for your family.

I strongly advocate permanently extending the 2001 and 2003 middle class tax cuts. In March of 2007, Congress passed the 2008 budget resolution, which places a strong emphasis on extending these tax cuts, including marriage penalty relief, the child tax credit, estate tax reform, the research and development tax credit, and the deduction for state and local sales taxes.

In Congress I have been working to promote middle-class opportunity with targeted middle-class tax cuts. You can learn more below:

Pass the Biggest Middle-Class Tax Cut in History
The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) currently penalizes middle-class Americans for raising a family, buying a home and paying their taxes. In 2008, Representative Gillibrand voted to shield 25 million American households, including 70,000 in NY-20, from paying the AMT. Middle class households, small business owners and farmers should never have to pay the tax, and Representative Gillibrand is working in Congress to ensure that there is permanent fix in the tax code.

Give Working Families a Tax Cut (The Family Care Act HR 1871)

In order to pay the bills, approximately two thirds of households have both parents working. Gillibrand’s Family Care Act will help parents balance their careers and allow their children to be cared for in a safe and enriching environment. As a mother of a four year old son in day care herself, Congresswoman Gillibrand understands the difficulty of balancing work and family.
