Tiger Woods Injury 2012 Updated As Left Ankle, Achilles Tendon

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Tiger Woods’ injury 2012 has been updated to news as a left ankle injury, soreness in the Achilles’ tendon. Tiger Woods’ injury was initially believed to his upper leg, or knee; but Woods tells news that it’s his left Achilles. The condition of the left Achilles won’t be known until testing commences today.

In a news statement Sunday, Tiger Woods disputed reports that his knee prompted him to limp, and thereafter, withdraw, during the Cadillac Championship. But Tiger did tell news that the point of problem is the left Achilles tendon. It’s the same spot that prompted Tiger’s 2011 injury at the Augusta National.

Tiger appeared fine during Sunday’s initial rounds. But approaching roughly the tenth role, Tiger began to limp, then switched shoes. Thereafter, he withdrew at the twelfth hole. Woods said the problem was tightness. He also tells news that he was fearful that continuing would worsen the injury.

“I felt tightness in my left Achilles warming up this morning, and it continued to get progressively worse,” Woods said in a news statement after withdrawing. “After hitting my tee shot at 12, I decided it was necessary to withdraw. In the past, I may have tried to continue to play, but this time, I decided to do what I thought was necessary.”

Woods will learn news today of the condition of the Achilles. He is hoping that he will be ready for his next tournament, Bay Hill.

Woods’ injury on Sunday is reportedly unrelated to his previous four left knee surgeries. Woods was out nine months for his last surgery, on his knee, after his 2008 US Open win at Torrey Pines. Woods told news Sunday that, despite reports, the rest of his body felt fine.

Spencer Levin Dominates Waste Management Phoenix Open Leaderboard

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Spencer Levin is expected to dominate the Waste Management Phoenix Open Leaderboard today with a five stroke lead. Spencer Levin is expected to deliver a strong third round today at the Waste Management Phoenix Open; he starts today at fourteen under. His closest competitor is Harrison Frazar at nine under so far in Saturday’s action.

Currently in third round action, two golfers fill the third place slot. Martin Flores, who is currently on the ninth hole, is making news today with a strong five under performance. John Huh is currently on the first hole as well.

The 27 year old Levin has seventy-eight thousand dollars in earnings so far this year on the PGA. As the seventy-first ranked golfer, Levin delivered a strong sixty-five round Thursday. But on Friday, he dominated action, delivering a masterful sixty-three under.

Frazar, however, was strong both rounds with sixty-six and sixty-seven scores.

So far in play today, Bubba Watson is trying to move up from a fifth place rank on the Leaderboard. He made news on Thursday with a sixty-seven, but fell to a seventy on Friday. Today he is currently one under; he remains seven under overall.

The golfer to watch, today, is probably John Rollins. With two seventy rounds Thursday and Friday, today he is delivering a five under through the eighth hole. Flores also has been impressive, with a five under through nine. Click HERE for current standings.

Tiger Woods Dominates Narrow Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Leaderboard Today

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tiger Woods is dominating a narrow leaderboard at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship today. Woods made news Saturday, finishing tied with Robert Rock in first through the third round. However, Tiger remains just two strokes ahead of a group of other golfers.

Tiger Woods’ presence on the green today has been strong. He is six under for Saturday’s action. Woods had a decent start on Thursday with a seventy. But after an improving round Friday with a sixty-nine, Woods today came back stroke with a sixty-six.

Tiger, however, didn’t have the biggest jump making news today. That was Peter Hanson. Hanson finished eight under today with a sixty-four. That moved him into a tie for third place. Also jumping well today was Thomas Bjorn who made news with a sixty-five round Saturday.

Woods ended the day six under. He and Robert Rock ended tied in first place, eleven under overall. But Woods told news he wants to end strong tomorrow. Narrowing on Woods are Paul Lawrie, Francesco Molinari, Rory McIlroy and Hanson, all nine under.

The field continues to remain narrow thereafter. Thorbjorn Olesen, George Coetzee, James Kingston, and Jean Baptise Gonnet are eight under overall.

McIlroy tells news that he is unhappy with his performance. He said that he didn’t strike the ball as strong as he had earlier this month.

Woods, however, says he is happy with his pace. But he reported to news that he thought his speed was off at times. Tigers says he has had a hard time adapting to the difficult greens. Click HERE for the leaderboard.

Tiger Woods Skyrockets on Australian Open Leaderboard Today

Tiger Woods Skyrockets on Australian Open Leaderboard Today

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tiger Woods is skyrocketing on the Australian Open Leaderboard today after falling dramatically Saturday. Tiger Woods ended at atop of the Australian Open Leaderboard 2011 Friday after shooting an impressive sixty-seven. But the news went sour for Woods on Saturday. On Thursday, Tiger Woods started the Australian Open with a sixty-eight. The impressive round was good enough to put Woods in the top ten of the leaderboard.

But the big news came on Friday. As other golfers struggled in the second round, Woods improved. He ended the day with a sixty-seven, putting him in first place atop the Australian Open Leaderboard. Images of Woods improving round-to-round have been a distant memory. While struggling in recent months, Woods has had tournaments with single impressive rounds; but until this weekend, Woods has rarely shot two strong rounds back-to-back.

The situation changed dramatically yesterday. Woods shocked fans and golf news with a seventy-five round. The poor showing dropped Woods from first to eighth place Saturday, tied with Bubba Watson.

But today, Tiger has proven that he still has it. Currently Woods is shooting a sixty-seven for the day. As a result, Woods is now in third palace currently on the leaderboard.

He sits only two points off the lead. Greg Chalmers remains in first place overall. Chalmers leads John Senden, Woods, and Geoff Ogilvy, respectively. Chalmers is three under today, Woods five under. Click HERE for live updates.

Tiger Woods Struggles on Australian Open Leaderboard 2011

Tiger Woods Struggles on Australian Open Leaderboard 2011

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Yesterday, Tiger Woods topped the Australian Open Leaderboard 2011 after a second round par 67. Today the Australian Leaderboard looked entirely different after Woods struggled, shooting a 75 third round. After yesterday’s action, Tiger Woods fans rejoiced, many heralding the return of Woods to his top game. But by Saturday, that enthusiasm had slowed.

Woods told news Friday “It feels good that I am there playing properly, it’s not like I am slashing it all over the place. I am hitting the ball well”. Woods’ comment for news today, however, were distinctly different. Tiger told news Saturday that he just couldn’t find his groove. “I just got off to an awful start,” Woods said. “The round should have been an easy 71, no problem … But if I take care of the par 5s and make a couple of putts, it’s a 1 or 2 under round. But I made nothing today.”

Woods ended the day tied with Bubba Watson, in eight overall. Woods shot a sixty-eight on Thursday, a sixty-seven on Friday. Today’s finish puts Woods at six under.

Dominating the leaderboard after Saturday’s action was John Senden. After producing lackluster rounds of seventy and seventy-one, Senden shocked golf news today with a sixty-three round. Jason Day and Greg Chalmers rounded off the top three at eleven and ten under responsively. Nick O’Hern and Nick Watney are tied in forty and nine under; Jarrod Lyle and Ryan Haller are tied at eight under today.

When asked what he thought about today’s round, Woods told news “shooting 75 is never exciting.” When asked about coach Sean Foley, Woods told news that his swing seems fine. He admitted that Foley has been trying to correct the swing. But Woods said “momentum”, not his swing, were responsible for today’s troubles. Click HERE for live updates.

Justin Rose Widens Lead on BMW Championship Leaderboard

Justin Rose Widens Position on BMW Championship Leaderboard

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Justin Rose is widening his first place position on the BMW Championship Leaderboard 2011 today. Amid an advancing Mark Wilson and a skyrocketing Luke Donald, news analysts are unsure if Rose had hold his four point lead after Saturday’s round. Rose started today as much as thirteen below, compared to Mark Wilson at nine under. But while Rose is so far shooting well through the sixth hole, Wilson is not. Rose is currently two under for the day, while Wilson and third place golfer Webb Simpson are one over. But the man to watch is Luke Donald.

Donald started today in twenty-seventh place. He’s making news today, jumping already to fifth place at five under. Donald is eight strokes out of the leader. But he is currently four under today. He shot a seventy-five and sixty-six through the first two rounds. Wilson, in contrast, shot a sixty-five and sixty-six; but at one under today, Wilson is struggling.

Also advancing strongly at Lemont today is Dufner. Jason Dufner surprised news and fans, jumping ten positions; at five under overall, Dufner has been shooting a two under Saturday.

But can Rose hold off the field today? Rose has had a great season. With $1.8 million in earnings, Rose still has no wins this PGA season, with four top ten finishes in twenty-one events. Donald, of course, has been stellar this season. In seventeen events, Donald has had eleven top ten finishes, one win, and $5 million in earnings.

The total purse today is $8 million. If Rose can hold on, he will win. At thirteen under, Rose is expected to far surpass last year’s result. Dustin Johnson last year won with a nine under overall. Click HERE for updates.
