Ricky Gervais Fired from Golden Globes: Report

Ricky Gervais Fired from Golden Globes

HOLLYWOOD (LALATE) – Ricky Gervais has been fired from future Golden Globes hosting gigs claims reports. Ricky Gervais has reportedly been told he has been fired, and won’t be invited back to future Golden Globes telecasts after he insulted the organization and its head last night. As of early Monday morning, neither the Golden Globes nor Gervais have yet confirmed nor commented about the reports.

Ricky Gervais was fired specifically for remarks about  Philip Berk, the head of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and the organization itself claims reports. Rob Shuter reports that Ricky Gervais will not invited back because of his comment about Berk and the organization.

What did Gervais say? About Berk he remarked “I just had to help him off the toilet and pop his teeth in.” About the Hollywood Foreign Press, he said “I’m sorry more members of the foreign press aren’t with us tonight, but many were deported right before the show along with most of the waiters. And Javier Bardem.”

And of remarks about bribing, Gervais said “I’d like to quash the rumors that the only reason The Tourist was nominated was so that the Hollywood Foreign Press can hang out with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. That is rubbish, that is not the only reason. They also accepted bribes.”

How bad did Hollywood Foreign Press respond to the situation? Shuter claims the organization decided last night Ricky Gervais was gone. Additional comments came into consideration. But the remarks about the organization reportedly prompted the firing.

Gia Mantegna Miss Golden Globes Glams Up via Taylor Jacobson

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Gia Mantegna will glam up as Miss Golden Globes 2011 tonight thanks to Taylor Jacobson. Gia Mantegna teams up with Taylor Jacobson while Rachel Zoe will dress Anne Hathaway for the Oscars.

For Bravo fans, Taylor Jacobson and Rachel Zoe’s battles made great programming. Now their styling of Mantegna and Hathaway will make great entertainment.

Mantegna (daughter of Joe Mantegna from Criminal Minds) says she is happy to be with Tay Tay because she’s not comfortable choosing outfits herself. The two told news this week that Mia will undoubtedly wear three dresses during the show and four outfits in post and pre-awards events.

But what is their inspiration? Mantegna tells news she understands she must dress appropriate for her role during the telecast and not “outshine” winners on stage with her selections.

But the bigger subtext between post telecasts is the question … whatever happened between Rachel and Taylor Jacobson? In a 2010 series premiere, husband Rodger Berman announced Taylor’s departure at an “emergency conference”. And yet few details were ever revealed about what happened to Taylor.

When Brad Goreski asked Roger and Rachel what happened, Roger said thinks weren’t adding up. “We have been getting behind the numbers … and frankly things aren’t adding up and that’s all I want to say about it.”

Bard also claimed during the episode that samples allegedly hadn’t been have been returned Really? Not so says Taylor to local news in 2010. Taylor told TV Guide at the time “I will say this: I don’t fit into sample sizes! Where did that even come from? I’m not a size zero. I have 34-D [chest]“.

Was anything real about Taylor’s departure? “Reality TV is faux reality. It’s a contrived reality, and everyone knows that. I was an extremely hard worker and I still am.”
