Obama LA Visit Today For George Clooney’s Fundraiser Seeks $15 Million

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Obama in LA visit today for George Clooney’s Fundraiser is seeking to raise $15 million, officials tell news. The President Barack Obama visit in Los Angeles today May 10, 2012, will also raise traffic congestion, street closures, and neighborhood blockades, officials tell news. For Los Angeles residents who have endured “Obama in LA visit” several times, all for fundraising purposes, in the last twelve months, today’s interruption is a familiar situation.
The George Clooney’s Fundraiser, as its being dubbed, actually drew more donations from the public than from Hollywood’s elite, so claim Obama’s campaign officials. Celebrities paying in excess of forty-thousand dollars per person tonight for the George Clooney’s Fundraiser include Robert Downey Jr., Tobey Maguire, Barbra Streisand, J.J. Abrams, Nina Jacobson, Bryan Lourd, Chris Silbermann, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Andy Spahn.
But Katzenberg was quick to tell news that, purportedly, nearly seventy-five percent of the anticipated fifteen million dollars raised from tonight’s fundraiser came “from the 99%”. He tells news that puportedly most donations amounted to merely twenty-three dollars, paid online.
But more Los Angeles residents, however, might be watching tonight, not the fundraiser, but the popular traffic jam website Sigalert.com. As of 5 pm PST currently, traffic is not any more worse than a typical Thursday evening in Los Angeles.
But that is about to change, officials tell news. Paul Krekorian, Los Angeles City Councilman for the 2nd District, is warning the public that the real trouble will erupted in the next three hours.
Krekorian tells news that, because Obama this time is taking a helicopter from LAX to Studio City, the real trouble will reportedly be in Studio City from 5 pm to 8 pm. But if you live south of Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, streets will be closed to local access until 10 pm. He is even advising residents near Fryman Canyon to “stay home”.
The trouble tonight won’t be isolated to Studio City. The President is heading from Studio City to Beverly Hills after 10 pm. Officials have yet to tell news what route – and if by car or helicopter – the President will take this evening to get back over the hill.
Obama was in LA for a fundraiser on February 15 shutting down streets from Westwood to Holmby Hills to visit the Holmby Hills mansion of Will Ferrell. Obama was here on October 25, 2011 visiting Eva Longoria, and shutting down Hancock Park, through Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and neighboring areas. On September 27 last year, Obama visited again, closing streets from Beverly Hills to West Hollywood to dine with Jeffrey Katzenburg, Jack Black, Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Jon Landau, Judd Apatow, and Quincy Jones.
