MILAN (LALATE) – Burberry’s model Tom Nicon has committed suicide. Tom Nicon, 22, has killed himself following a split form his girlfriend. Nicon was the face of Burberry and was set to start Milan fashion week.
This year Alexander McQueen took his life after the passing of his mother while Noemie Lenoir, the face of Marks and Spencer, committed suicide in Paris; last year, Daul Kim committed suicide also in Paris.
Tom reportedly jumped form his Milan apartment on Friday. His concierge found his body in the middle of the street. The building is located on Papiniano Avenue. Nicon left no suicide note. Tom also did campaigns for Versace and Hugo Boss.
Mr Nicon’s Milan agency D’management group posted the following statement online today: “A friend to all of us. Always so special, always so brilliant and such a great model and human being.”
His New York agency Re:quest Model Management posted this message: “And there was a beautiful boy named Tom with a mere glance a subtle smile and eyes that spoke by themselves told me a story … he will be missed.”
Donatella Versace issued the following statement about Nicon’s passing today: “Tom was with us on Friday morning for a final show fitting. He seemed fine and calm. He had already done three or four shows with us and he was a sweet boy. I just can’t understand why he did what he did. We would never have thought he would do something like this. When we heard the news we were all so upset and we still are all so very sad.”
