VIDEO! Here again is that Brandon Spikes eye-gouging youtube video that got questionable words from Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow. Brandon Spikes’ eye gouging got himself a half suspension but sentence after sentence of statements about how “caring” he is by the Gators organization.
“Caring”?
Urban Meyer didn’t acknowledge the eye gouging on Saturday and now wants you know that “everyone” is behind Brandon Spikes.

Ealey says the Gators eye gouge and refs don’t see it. “That’s how they play. They got me on the ground and they were doing it all night. The refs just weren’t seeing it”. Urban Meyer said Saturday basically he has no idea what Ealey is talking about: “If that’s the case, I’ll have a very serious talk with him.”
On Monday, Meyer said that Spikes was just getting “caught up in emotion.”
“I don’t condone that, and I understand what goes on the football [field], but there’s no place for that. We’re going to suspend Brandon for the first half of the Vanderbilt game. I spoke with him. That’s not who he is. That’s not who we are. He got caught up in emotion. I love Brandon Spikes. Our team does. We’re going to move on. He has our full support.”
In a statement that should be about the wrong, Meyer talks all about love for Brandon Spikes, how everyone is behind him. (Meyer might want to read online to see if “everyone” is behind him.)
“The thing is, he needs to know we’re all [behind him]. We understand the game of football. Some of us have played it. Very emotional things happened in that game in particular that were not good for either side, but the bottom line is we’re Florida and he’s Brandon Spikes, and we expect certain things. He understands.”
And if that’s not enough, Tim Tebow wants you to know that Brandon Spikes might eye gouge you, but he cares, he really cares.
“He’s very emotional on game day. He’s a very emotional player and a very caring person, someone who cares about his team, cares about his players, off the field, too, helping them and taking care of them.”
