CD101 Andyman Dead

COLUMBUS, OHIO (LALATE) – CD101’s Andyman is dead. CD101 confirms Andyman’s death today; the beloved DJ and Program Director John Andrew “Andyman” Davis died during a tragic drowning over the weekend.
Andyman was reportedly on vacation with his wife and three sons in Michigan when the tragedy hit. Andyman joined Fun With Radio LLC owned station in 2001. His efforts to raise money for charity have been nationally recognized; “Andyman-a-thon” was a 48 hour continual broadcast that raised funds for local children’s charities.
Andyman joined CD101 as a DJ in 1991, moved to station program director in 1998, and won numerous awards and topped lists as one of the favorite Columbus DJs, becoming a benchmark of afternoon drive-time radio.
A message posted online today reads: “It is with much sadness that CD101 announces the passing of John Andrew “Andyman” Davis – programming director and beloved dee jay at CD101. Andy was vacationing with his family in Michigan and tragically drown this weekend. Andy is survived by his wife, Molly, and their three sons Johnny, Oliver, and Sammy.”
