Mariah Carey reveals she wants to have babies with Nick Cannon. Mariah also responds to rumors that she is set to have a second lavish wedding with Cannon.
Carey says there was never plans for a second wedding ceremony.
“It’s difficult, especially when legitimate press is saying, ‘They’re having a $4 million wedding.’ Why? What - did we set a budget? ‘It’s gonna be $4 million! It’s going to be really cool! We’re going to give away gold as people leave! We’re going to sprinkle them with gold! It’s going to be very Coming to America!’ What do they think? Our whole point (in having the unannounced beach wedding) was to do the opposite!”
While her wedding to Cannon seemed fast, their courtship as LALATE had speculated was longer than seen in the press.
“We really kept the whole relationship aspect of it quiet,” Carey tells Elle in its new issue. “Therefore, we didn’t really ‘date,’ you know what I mean? Because that would have been not quiet or private. I think we didn’t want to give people a chance to be like, ‘What are you doing? What are you talking about? This is so quick… Are you sure?’”
Cannon reportedly proposed twice within just a few days of each other.
“He sort of kidnapped me and took me on a helicopter ride. Then he re-proposed,” she said.
And about having babies with Cannon, Carey says “I couldn’t image anybody that I’ve ever met being a better dad”.
“It’s definitely the best place I’ve ever been in my life. If you really look at my life, I’ve never had a personal life, or if I did, it was just wearing a mask and it was not existing, you know? I put my career ahead of my personal life because I think I didn’t know that I was deserving of both, because that was just how I always felt about myself. That was just my own insecurity and land in which I live.”
