StarRoc = Jay-Z + Stargate! Jay-Z and Stargate’s Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen have launch StarRoc, underneath Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Live Nation deal.
StarRoc will release Jay-Z’s albums and new talent. But Blueprint 3 will be Jay-Z next album under Def Jam pursuant to his previous deal.
StarRoc will act as both a record label and music publishing company under Jay-Z’s Roc Nation deal profiled on LALATE first earlier this year.
Reps state this week: “the focus is to find new talent and develop artists through mutually beneficial global partnerships which include music distribution, publishing, touring and merchandising.”
Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen are behind current songs Ne-Yo Closer, Rihanna’s Take a Bow, and Jennifer Hudson’s Spotlight.

As LALATE told you first, Jay-Z appeared tonight at the NBA draft lottery. Carter represented the New Jersey Nets for which he is a limited partner.
Jay-Z had a less than 1% chance of nabbing the number one pick. Carter’s wish was that his nickname “Lucky Lefty” would produce the winning pick.
So much for that wish. Jay-Z pulled in #10.
First pick went to the Chicago Bulls.

Roc Nation is now official. Roc Nation, the new joint venture between Jay-Z and Live Nation, was reported officially signed Wednesday.Roc Nation LLC is part of roughly a $150 million deal that governs Jay-Z’s recordings and tours for the next decade.
The multi structured deal came out due to a Fom 8K filing with the SEC Wednesday as reported by Billboard. Jay Z (through his company Marcy Media) will get 775,434 Live Nation shares, and an option for 500,000 with the exercise price of $13.73.
For moneys, Jay Z will (among other moneys) get $5 million each year for the next five years and $25 million for startup funds and $10 million per album for a minimum 3 album dea.
