Dupri told People at STK last night it will happen “[r]ight after the tour.”

The event was to honor LALATE’s fav STL man Nelly. “Janet would be a great mom. She was around so many brothers and sisters all her life, so she’s got to know what that is [like]. And her mom is a great mother.”

Dupri says Jackson not just an amazing partner but also a wonderful friend.

Aww.

“The greatest thing in life is just to have a friend,” he said. “When I have problems in life, I share them with her. When she has a problem, she comes to me.”

The show will be for MTV and will reportedly have “Jackson as she mentors a group of aspiring singers and dancers. Project will be shot in the coming months as Jackson prepares for her world tour, which launches on Sept. 10.”

Say what? Recently reports, from Janet herself, said Janet’s world tour dates were now in question because of an album dispute.

Something doesn’t add up about this whole story.

“It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher,” said exec producer Dave Broome. “And we’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.”

Broome’s credits include “The Biggest Loser,” “The Radio Music Awards” and NBC’s Tsunami benefit.

Yes, but Janet’s credits include the biggest Tyler Perry opener in recent months. Why would Janet even consider this project? Someone needs to get Janet on the phone and reconsider this project. And if it’s just an attempt to promote a tour, it’s tacky.

“That’s pretty difficult to say, only because of the record label at this point,” Jackson tells SOHH. “We started off with “Feedback” and the label and myself haven’t quite seen eye to eye since the “Feedback” single so they’ve kind of basically stopped all promotion. I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album.”

Reportedly, her European tour has been on hold. “I just want to let the fans know because I’ve been reading a lot what the bloggers have been saying about the record and not hearing it on the radio and stuff like that, so I just wanted to let them know where things were as well and where it was all coming from. I’ve heard people talking about me not coming to Europe in support of the record just to let them know that it was definitely in my heart to go to Europe and to support this album but it’s about teamwork, it’s not something I can totally do on my own,” she said. “Unfortunately things have turned out the way that they have with the differences between the label and myself, which we have been having for the most part from the beginning. So I just want to tell them again thank you very much for all the love and all the support and I they understand the entire situation and I’m really excited to see everybody on tour. I’m really looking forward to that it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

If you remember, online chatter had previously placed Jackson and boyfriend Jermaine Dupri unhappy with her last label (Virgin) and its promotion of her previous album “20 Y.O”. That album dropped 74% in sales its second week with insiders saying “Jermaine blames Virgin for not getting it enough radio play, not working it”.

This will be Brown’s sophomore album. (Yes, she had a freshman album … but of course, hardly anyone heard it.)

But Brown hit number one with Missy Elliot on ‘I Want You Back’.

Brown tells Metro.co.uk that ten tracks are done, that she will have another track with Missy, and yes, also a cleavage duet  duet with Miss Jackson.

So far, there is no tour date announced for Los Angeles, so you might have to drive to Vegas or San Diego if you are in Southern California or Oakland for our Nor Cal readers.
