Yes, three fake celebrity deaths have spread online in three days. A clear upswing is underway in false death reports that began dominating net activity in 2009. As reportedly extensively on LALATE last year, sure false reports initially manifested themselves online only on Sunday afternoons, namely shortly after 3 pm PST. They appeared both automated and man driven with a concerted effort of commentators swirling across blogs shortly after the false death reports surfaced. Plane, train, and car crashes were the most common false cause of death and hip hop and pop music were the two most common industries victimized.
