McCain Wins Missouri

Posted on November 19th, 2008 in Barack Obama, Election, John McCain, St Louis by lalate

McCain Wins Missouri

McCain wins Missouri. John McCain wins Missouri says election results just announced today. McCain’s Missouri win breaks a half century record for the state of Missouri.

A President has always had to win Missouri to win the presidency since 1956. This time, it clearly wasn’t the case.

Missouri was initially called an Obama win. Obama had been pictured on LALATE NEWS (video still up on LALATE2) as attracting over a 100,000 supporters at St Louis rally just weeks before the election.

In the end, today’s still unofficial results have McCain wining by less than 4,000 votes, out of total 2.9 million cast.

McCain Concession Speech VIDEO

VIDEO! Watch video of McCain’s Concession Speech. John McCain’s concession speech left a sadness for McCain supporters and respect from opponents still liking the man McCain, perhaps not his policies.

McCain’s concession speech and Obama’s acceptance speech showed a “peaceful” transfer of power, as analysts said last night.

McCain said:

“I urge all Americans … I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.

“Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that.

“It is natural. It’s natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again.

“We fought — we fought as hard as we could. And though we feel short, the failure is mine, not yours.”
