Jonathon Amaya Arrested, Mug Shot Photo Released

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Jonathon Amaya has been arrested for battery and his mug shot photo has been released (above). Jonathon Amaya, the Miami Dolphins safety, was arrested this morning November 26, 2012 after allegedly choking his taxi cab driver. The driver claimed that the NFL player was trying to kill him.
Jonathon Amaya’s arrest follows the arrest last summer of Chad Johnson, which ultimately resulted in Ochocinco’s firing by the team. The Dolphins have yet to comment about the Jonathon Amaya arrest.
But officials tell news Amaya hailed the cab at 4:30 am this morning. He had just exited a Miami Beach nightclub. During the ride, Amaya offered $100 to the cab driver to drive him to Weston. The cabby didn’t like that suggestion and brought Amaya back to the nightclub.
Then, the cabby claims that Jonathon Amaya became violent, began allegedly choking the drier from behind, while the car was being driven. Two officers were in the vicinity as they saw the scuffle unfold as the driver scream “this man is trying to kill me”.
Jonathon Amaya was charged with battery at 7:43 am local time today. Amaya remained behind bars early today, officials at the Miami-Dade Corrections confirmed to news. Amaya initially had not yet paid a $1500 bond.
