McCain Blinks VIDEO!

Posted on October 16th, 2008 in Debate, John McCain, Barack Obama by lalate

McCain Blinks

VIDEO! Watch videos of John McCain’s blinks during the Obama McCain Presidential Debate. Forget the tongue, researchers counted how often John McCain blinks during a 90 minute debate last night - 3,000 blinks.

In the first Presidential Debate, researchers focused on how often McCain’s tongue comes out, then counted Sarah Palin’s blinking, now they are back counting McCain’s blinking.

Um, why? The economy is a mess and we are counting blinks? Of note, the leading polls say that McCain’s demeanor turned off voters last night during the debates.

Needless to say, people are asking to see this video. LALATE2 has up the blinks (last debate) video.

Who Won the Last Debate!

Posted on October 16th, 2008 in Polls, Debate, John McCain, Barack Obama by lalate

Who Won the Last Debate

Who won the Last Debate? LALATE has the polls in on who won tonight’s third and last presidential debate. The key number concerning who won is among uncommitted voters.

The answer: Obama.

Here are the polls coming in late tonight.

Obama vs. McCain

The CNN focus group
15% vs. 10%

A CNN poll of viewers (40% Democrats, 30% Republicans)
58% vs. 31%

CNN Independents
57% to 31%

MediaCurves.com
Republicans:
18% vs. 70%, 12% undecided
Democratss:
81% vs. 10%, 9% undecided
Independents:
60% vs. 30%, 10% undecided

Fox News unscientific poll
67% vs. 33%

AOL
47% vs. 48% , 5% say no one won.

NBC’s unscientific poll
84% vs. 13%.

What is LALATE’s take on these results?

Independents are heavily favoring Obama which is important.

Additionally, the poll results still show roughly 10% still undecided or unhappy with either candidate. With most polls in early October as reported here show Obama’s lead in the single digits, a 10% undecided vote still could leave this race up in the air with 21 days to go.

After three presidential debates, and one vice presidential debate, the highest watched debate on LALATE was the vice presidential followed by the second presidential debate. Now with the debates over, stay with LALATE as it delivers poll results and countdown to election day with live coverage, video, analysis, and exit results.

Sarah Palin Autism Debate!

Posted on October 15th, 2008 in Debate, Sarah Palin, John McCain, Barack Obama by lalate

Sarah Palin Autism Debate

Tonight’s third Presidential debate brought up Sarah Palin and autism. John McCain says Sarah Palin should know about autism. Trig Palin does not have autism. Trig Palin has down syndrome.

McCain said tonight of Sarah Palin and autism.:

“Let’s reform it. Let’s reform it and fund it. That was, of course, out-of-bounds by the Democrats. We need to reform these programs. We need to have transparency. We need to have rewards. It’s a system that cries out for accountability and transparency and the adequate funding.

McCain continues:

“And I just said to you earlier, town hall meeting after town hall meeting, parents come with kids, children — precious children who have autism. Sarah Palin knows about that better than most. And we’ll find and we’ll spend the money, research, to find the cause of autism. And we’ll care for these young children. And all Americans will open their wallets and their hearts to do so.”

McCain said tonight on Joe the Plumber:

“Of course, I’ve talked to people like Joe the plumber and tell him that I’m not going to spread his wealth around. I’m going to let him keep his wealth. And of course, we’re talking about positive plan of action to restore this economy and restore jobs in America. That’s what my campaign is all about and that’s what it’ll continue to be all about.”

McCain continues:

“Joe, I want to tell you, I’ll not only help you buy that business that you worked your whole life for and I’ll keep your taxes low and I’ll provide available and affordable health care for you and your employees. And I will not stand for a tax increase on small business income.”

Congressman John Lewis McCain Debate!

Posted on October 15th, 2008 in John Lewis, Debate, John McCain, Barack Obama by lalate

Congressman John Lewis McCain Debate

Here is a repeat of that John McCain’s slamming of Barack Obama over the Congressman John Lewis remarks. Barack Obama refused to respond to the Congressman John Lewis attack during the debate after raised by McCain tonight.

When moderator Bob Schieffer gave Obama the opportunity to respond to McCain’s anger over the negative remarks by Congressman John Lewis, Obama didn’t respond but said McCain is guilty of negative campaigning too.

Obama’s response: “And 100 percent, John, of your ads — 100 percent of them have been negative.”

McCain said the following tonight:

“One of them happened just the other day, when a man I admire and respect — I’ve written about him — Congressman John Lewis, an American hero, made allegations that Sarah Palin and I were somehow associated with the worst chapter in American history, segregation, deaths of children in church bombings, George Wallace. That, to me, was so hurtful.”

McCain said during the debates that every time someone in his camp made “an out-of-bounds remark”, they repudiated. McCain demanded Obama to repudiate this comment. “I hope that Sen. Obama will repudiate those remarks that were made by Congressman John Lewis, very unfair and totally inappropriate.”

Obama did not, saying McCain runs more negative campaigns than him. McCain said the reverse.

“And it’s a matter of fact that Sen. Obama has spent more money on negative ads than any political campaign in history. And I can prove it.”

What do you think?

Colin Powell Endorses OBAMA

Posted on October 15th, 2008 in Colin Powell, Debate, Barack Obama by lalate

Colin Powell Endorses OBAMa

Colin Powell endorses Obama? Reports today say Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama for President will be made after the Hofstra Presidential debate tonight. Colin Powell’s endorsement for Obama or McCain has not been announced to date, with Powell waiting to learn more about the candidates.

But a Powell endorsement of Obama is expected after the third and final debate tonight says multiple reports. Analysts including Zbigniew Brzezinski, Robert Novak and William Kristol reportedly believe the former Secretary of State for Republican Bush will back the Democrat candidate by week end.

Recently at London’s Royal Albert Hall Powell told the audience: “I stand before you as an African-American. Many people have said to me you became secretary of state of the USA, is it still necessary to say that you are an African American or that you are black? And I say yes, so that we can remind our children.”

“By now we’ve all heard their talking points. We’ve heard the general outlines of what they are talking about. The time has come to be a little more specific.
