Local Florida officials confirmed Jones died this morning inside Martin Memorial Hospital. A rep for Jones tells news that Davy suffered a fatal heart attack Wednesday morning. Funeral arrangements for Davy Jones have not been confirmed to news. A memorial service is expected within days.

In January of last year, Don Kirshner died at age 77. Kirshner delivered the 1960s hit “I’m a Believer” for the Monkees. During Kirshner’s first meeting with Micky Dolenz, Dolenz thought Kirshner was a production assistant. At one point, Dolenz took the ice from his Coke and dropped it on Kirshner’s head. Dolenz later told news “I must have apologized to him a thousand times over the next few months.”

Fellow Monkees star Peter Tork revealed in 2009 that he had Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma cancer on his tongue. In a news statement at the time, Tork said “[T] here isn’t a lot of experience among the medical community. On the other hand, the type of cancer it is, never mind the location, is somewhat well-known, and the prognosis, I’m told, is good.” In September 2009, Tork confirmed he was “all clear” of the condition.

Severin died on February 12, his family confirms to news. Cause of death was not released. Severin’s works included The Incredible Hulk and Sub-Mariner. Other titles included Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat.

Stan Lee, in a news statement today, said “The minute you looked at his artwork you knew you were looking at a John Severin illustration; it could be no one else. Besides his inimitable style, there was a feeling of total authenticity to whatever he drew, whether it was a Western, a crime story, a superhero saga or a science fiction yarn.” Lee added “One of my greatest regrets, as an editor, was the fact that John was so busy doing other things that I couldn’t give him as many assignments as I would have wished.”

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

By the 1960s, Zina Bethune appeared in the TV series Route 66. At the same time, she appeared in three seasons of The Doctors and the Nurses as Gail Lucas. More recent roles included Emergency! for three years, Party of Five, and Santa Barbara, where she played Dr. Priscilla MacIntosh. Her last credited TV role was Eva in Wings of Legacy.

Bethune, real name Zina Feeley, was attempting to help an injured animal on Forest Lawn Drive on Sunday. Police say she was hit by one passing car, and then by a second car.

Local investigators would not confirm the death Sunday. But National Geographic and Cameron tell news that “the deep-sea community lost two of its finest”. The cause of the helicopter crash remains under investigation.

Sources indicate that Wright was piloting the helicopter, and deGruy was his passenger. Mike deGruy was an American cinematographer. Wright was an Australian television writer-producer.

Australia’s ABC News has since confirmed that the helicopter, piloted by Wright, crashed after takeoff from a strip near the town of Nowra. The two were on route to tape a documentary, David Bennett, president of Australia’s South Coast Recreational Flying Club, confirmed to local news.

In a news statement, James Cameron said “Mike and Andrew were like family to me.. They were my deep-sea brothers and both were true explorers who did extraordinary things and went places no human being has been.”

DeGruy was a resident of Santa Barbara, Wright lived in Australia. DeGruy worked on Cameron’s Last Mysteries of the Titanic. Wright served as producer of the 3D movie “Sanctum”.

Robert had previously told news that his character was based upon Chico Marx. He had played the role during a tour of A Night With Groucho before being cast in the Warner Brothers sitcom.

Robert had suffered a previous heart attack and was in poor health. Hegyes suffered chest pains this morning at home. He was transported to JFK Medical Center. There the actor suffered a full cardiac arrest and died thereafter, hospital officials confirm to news.

His family confirms to news that funeral arrangements will be held at Flynn & Son Funeral Home at 23 Ford Ave. this Sunday.  Robert Hegyes will be greatly missed.
